about four months ago i got an ingrown hair that was hard and filled with puss. I went to my doctor who said to just leave it alone and it will go away. They tested me for STI's but never called me to give me my results. Recently i have gotten another what looks to be an ingrown hair and have smaller red bumps. I have tried a bunch of remedies that i found online for ingrown hairs and herpes but nothing seems to work. Im so scared to go to the doctors or call them and find out my test results. what should i do?
Not like this makes a difference but are you male or female? It could be irritation didn't I shaving, how often do you use a new razor? Dull razors will create more opportunities for ingrown hairs. Soak in warm water before shaving - this opens the pores and soak in cold water after shaving - this closes the pores. Use a blow dryer when done to make sure no moisture is left behind because the bacteria will thrive off of that. Hope this helps!
It would be best for you to know for sure, so if i were in your shoes i would find out. Take a picture so your doctor can see what the sores look like (i mean it may help). My doctor said she would only call if my results were positive (that was a dreaded call to receive BUT now i know for sure). This virus effects are unique to each individual but overall A LOT alike. This is hard to deal with so i LOVE the support this site gives through fellow survivors

I would definitely give them a call or get a Painless biopsy done on it. Fear is not an option. You must deal with it. It's not AIDS and it's not a death sentence so get over it and get to the doctor
