I have sinned!

Just eaten fried bread, bacon and egg.  Washed down with three cups of coffee.  Delicious!

Has anyone else "sinned" lately, and how?   Printable, of course!😀😀

Oh sounds lovely, I can almost taste that lovely breakfast😃😃

I think I've sinned all week cause have been eating a lot of carbs😝

I so perfectly understand what spout talk about!

There  is a point in which our system says enough is enough.

The we go back to ours senses and to what is good, healthy and helpful for our health and well being.

Take care.

Please, read "what" you talk about.

Hee hee!  Glad you explained that!😏

that's terrible Constance.

at least I had multigrain bread and added sausages and tomato and mushrooms ........ and two eggs

no coffee though so I'm almost totally carb free .... until later!

I sin just about every day.Last night was pizza and garlic bread and two bottles of beer! My wife and daughter are away during the week and I'm pretty carb free on my own, still have the beer though. But when they are here for the weekend I just have what they have. I'm not losing weight (surprise surprise) but have halted the upward trend so there's the upside I'm looking for.

Ron.

Other than possibly the bread (and even then, not if it was a smallish slice) - what's sinful about that?

Can't remember who said it now, but it isn't what you eat between Chistmas and New Year that puts on the weight, it's wht you eat between New Year and Christmas! Same idea...

god forgive me or should i say my body forgive me for i have sined for 5 days straight.

i have come to the wonderful province of Quebec on vacation and they happen to make the best bread going. i couldn't help myself😕 to the point yesteday in the restaurant for breakfast they had eggs pizza with local cheese 3 types and bacon. it was to die for. my husband even agreeded. I've had wine daily which is bad but please forgive. i promise when i leave tomorrow I'll go back to my meat loving ways. lol.

we all slip it's just whether we get back on the horse. i hope i do.

I keep reading about how how many of you have been drinking alcohol. My PM dr won't let me. And I must say it's something I miss. Are you that are drinking not on opiates or are you just cheating. 😆

maybe you should change a doctor

That is my almost everyday breakfast ( less bacon, which I don't like, unless it is properly smoked).  I do have coffee 2x a day, helps me with my low blood pressure.

I also "sin" every evening with glass of wine or three.

So Constance, now that you have confessed, you can do it again and come back to tell us about it.

Probably not on opiates - they don't usually do anything for PMR anyway and wouldn't be used in the UK without a VERY good reason. I suspect Germany where Constance lives is even less likely to hand them out.

I only got given morphine once, post-op. NEVER again! My BP fell out of the basement and I felt as if I was dying.

There is no real reason to not drink alcohol with pred - just don't go mad. If you are on other medications where alcohol is contraindicated that's a different matter altogether. I live in Italy - they tell you quite specifically if you shouldn't drink with something here. It's assumed we drink some wine...

If we all did what our doctors say life wouldn't we worth living.😏  First they put us on all sorts of medicine that ruins our bodies, and then, just as they begin to work, ask us to stop.  Then they put us on other dangerous drugs with just as many side effects.

Having the "odd" drink of alcohol certainly doesn't destroy our bodies.  Of course, over doing it would be dangerous.

I am confused now. I was thinking this was my pain site not my PMR site. I have PMR and back pain so I take opiates for my back pain not my PMR. I guess I made a mistake.

No problem - if you need the opiates for something else that's fair enough. It isn't a good idea to drink when on any opiate - but a lot of people do of course and many pay for it dearly.

So sorry...

Hi, yes it's hard at times not to sin with eating. I'm on 35mg Pred and my cravings for carbs and sweets are terrible some days. But I am trying. My sister said have one bad day out of 7 to start with, and after awhile you wont want to do it at all, so I have started that

Good luck

Hi Dea!  I presume, as you are on 35mg, that you have GCA, is that correct?  How long have you had it, and have you also PMR?  They are both beasts😡.

I occasionally 'sin' with sweet things, but I don't eat many carbs, little bread, few potatoes, rice, etc, no cake.  Just don't like them!

Have you put on a lot of weight?  I was one of the very few that took off weight (10 kilos).

Hope you proceed well and are not in too much pain and discomfort.

Regards fr Constance.

Hi  Constance, Yes I do have PMR and GCA. I have had it since April this year but I feel it was coming on a lot longer than that. My mother died in Feb this year and I think the stress was the last straw and I had some tests.

You are lucky to lose weight, I have put it on, was on 40mg Pred and just went crazy for food. Which I am getting under control.

I had my breast operation last week ( cancer ) they found that when my tests went crazy because of high Preds, but very very lucky, found in time had not spread from the mild duct, so as you can imagine today I'm a little sore and sorry, but happy it was caught in time. Now that is out of the way I hope to get on with the PMR and GCA : It will be  along road, but one I will travel, come to terms with, and stay positive, thank God for this site:

Thank you for your concern  Constance : I wish you well :

You had carcinoma in situ I assume then? Good that it was found - and good that you have the surgery behind you with a good result. Get well soon (from the surgery that is, the PMR will go when it wants!).
