i have started citalopram today and am concerned about the personal reports of tiredness and inability to sleep as my main complaints are chronic fatigue and sleep problems, alongside irritability'moodswings and general fedupness.most of these i feel are as a result of the fatigue.ive tried other ssri`s in the past and wondered what was different about this one.

I was also worried but have had no side effects at all except slight shaking hands.

My advice is just not to think about it too much, try and forget you are taking them and dont dwell on what might happen.

I have been taken citalopram for six months now , i felt much the same as yourself when i first started to take citalopram . you might have side affects for a few weeks but once the tablets start to work you will feel great they realy do work, good luck .

I took Citalopram for 18 mths & finally came off them after Christmas. I did struggle with sleep initially, but once the tablets started to work that stopped. If I needed help again, I wouldn't hesitate to go back on them.
