I have stomach pains, can anyone help

in October 2014 i began to have pain around the kidneys and in the right side of my pelvis. The doctor treated me for a urine infection. The next day I was in hospital having tests carried out because of the pain I was experiencing .  I had a kidney and bladder scan but nothing showed up.  Several weeks later I had another urine infection, this time with blood in, the doctor put me on Omeprazole at this point .I was referred to a Urologist and in January 2015 I saw the consultant, on the day my urine showed blood in it again. The consultant said it wasn't unusual for people to have blood in there urine and some people live with it.  I wasn't impressed and he suggested having a cystoscopy .  By now I had probably had about 4 lots of antibiotics.  In February I went in hospital to have a cystoscopy , still in pain and still showing blood in my urine.  They discovered I had a small growth on my bladder and within two weeks I was in hospital having it removed. Some days later I was back to the doctors because of right sided pain and was yet again told I had blood in my urine, this time it was put down to surgery. Antibiotics yet again.  I then started to develop severe pain in the lower abdomen .  The pains were very sharp across the bottom of my lower abdomen.  I started feeling tired, sick, and having hot sweats. Went to doctors, given buscopan to take and  I was admitted to hospital with a suspected appendicitis.  The only consultants I saw was the urologist, who told me that the growth they removed was benign, thank goodness, but I had another water infection they needed to treat with antibiotics and I would have an ultrasound of my kidneys and bladder.  By this time, this being the second day on hospital by now, I was in considerable pain, drawing my legs up and getting very down. The ultrasound showed nothing wrong. The urologist said there was nothing more he could do and he would refer me to a  Gastroenterologist.  This would be an outpatients appointment and I would be seeing him at outpatients.  This seemed strange as they could have seen me in hospital , but hey ho.  3rd day in hospital and still in pain they got a pain clinic lady to see me and she recommended tramadol, which I agreed to.  I was given one at tea time and another at bedtime.  In the morning I woke and for the first time in two weeks I was pain free.  Unfortunately though the tramadol did not agree with me. As the pain had gone I was discharged from hospital and told that the pain was IBS.  The day after the pain returned , and I ended up in bed again. Next day I was fine then the next in bed again with severe pain.  Luckily I have now had 7 days pain free, but I am not taking tramadol.  I have a gastroenterologist appointment in 2 weeks to go in an have biopsies taken from my rectum.   My life is being ruled by this pain and the constant urine infections ,  can anyone throw any light on this for me .

Hi Julie,

It sounds as though you have been through alot. I really don't know what I can say to be of help. But I just really wanted you to know I am thinking of you and hopefully this all gets sorted out. With that said when I had Endometriosis I dealt with alot of unusaul symptoms and alot of abdominal pain. That is the only thing that registers with me that can cause so many problems all at once that I have personally dealt with.

Good luck.

Hi Julie, sorry I forgot to mention that I have had a full hysterectomy and have had my gall bladder removed, vital points I forgot to mention in my post, sorry.  But many thanks for reading my very long post and taking the time to reply. Julie x

These answers to you problem is unacceptable. Are you having gas or bloating, any upoer abdominal pain? What about when you lie down, are there any food or liquid coming up in your mouth? Does the pain get worse or less when you eat? These are questions a gastroenterologist will ask. Make sure you check these out so yoy can answer the doc. You need help and now. This is not easy getting up each day wondering how you will feel and more than feel but also afraid that you will hurt. Are you vomiting? I also did tramadol and that helped with my back pain but it made me sick all i did was vomit from it so i only took 2 when i could not deal with the pain. This med shuts down the part of the brain that allows you to feel pain so that is not helping. You need to get to the soure and shut that down so you wont need pain management. You can try drinking some garlic pills as this is a natural antibiotic. Good luck..
