I have the feeling of throwing up when I'm in public and I don't know what's wrong.

I'm a student and when I'm in class or lunch or even walking the halls I have a feeling of throwing up.

I've had this feeling for a long time (probably like a year or more) and I just don't know what it is. I keep thinking it's anxiety but i'm not sure.

I do have a fear of throwing up and when I have that feeling of throwing up in a public space I get worried and start to fidget with my fingers, pop my knuckles, draw on my hand, something to get me distracted from that feeling.

Even if I'm in the car with family I get the feeling but it's not as intense as how it is in public spaces with people I don't know that well.

I lose focus as well and lose control of my breathing.

Does anyone know what this might be?

Hi. It's easy to develop irritational fears with anxiety, but I suppose it could also be some kind of social anxiety or fear of open spaces. Have you ever thrown up in public that would cause you to feel this way?  Maybe carry some stomach settling medication with you so that you can prevent sickness when you start to feel this way. Just knowing that you're prepared might help your fears. See your GP if you can and they may be able to help you. I hope this helps and remember that even IF you were somehow sick in public, you werent the first and you won't be the last. People are sick in public for many reasons and those around you will be full of sympathy and concern. It won't be as embarrassing as you think x

This need to be looked into, yes Anxiety can cause sickness although it can be something else that needs to be looked into.and you need to put your fears to rest and understand how your body works
