I'm 19 with IBS and a history of crones disease in my family. Therefore, I often get a lot of gas buildup and uncomfortable bloating etc. However, I can't burp. I've never been able to and I just get a slight pain in my esophagus when it is really bad. I've been to a gastroenterologist (I hope that's the right name) and gotten an endoscopy and an esophageal manometry (also not sure if that is correct). But my doctor had told me he found nothing wrong and to just deal with it. Does anyone have an idea on something else that could be done? Any of the "remedies" that are suppose to buildup gas just end up causing me pain until I relieve it elsewhere. Even sometimes when I do heavy drinking with friends, I end up having to release the gas by gagging myself. Any advice would be appreciated.
Have you tried antacid chalk tablets? Or tried fizzy drinks?
Have you tried bicarbonate of soda or Windeze?I have also found drinking milk helps to release gas.
Anything I try that is carbonated to increase gas just makes me bloated and uncomfortable.
