Hi Jordan,

It sounds like you have Health Anxiety, I had it for years where the worry of having a bad disease is overwhelming.

At my worst I had a problem with my throat which was eventually diagnosed by two consultants as pharyngeal spasm (tight muscles caused by anxiety), I was sent for a video fluroscopy (a video xray) I was in the xray room with the gown on and just broke down because I had googled the long term effects of ionising radiation and was so worried I had to get dressed again and walk away I couldnt put myself through the radiation.

My advice to you as a six year chronic anxiety sufferer is:

1st - Research health anxiety and get some self help leaflets free online. They will help you understand your thought process and the effect anxiety has on your body.

2nd if #1 doesnt work/help Go see your GP and get some anti anxiety meds to help you through.

3rd: Ask you GP to refer you for CBT or Councelling where a pro will talk through your emotions feelings and help you formulate a coping strategy.

4th: Try some meditation and mindfullness to help you relax and bring you back into the present moment, there is a book by Eckhart Tolle called The Power of Now that is exellent in my opinion for drawing your attention to the present moment and helping you understand your thoughts.

I hope this helps you friend

Yes anxiety can make you feel this dreadful am suffering with it myself and it's making me feel like am seriously ill on daily basis.. am trying my best to ignore but like you it's hard...am up and down during day but worst is a can't stay sleeping will wake up early hours in morning and am stuck up rest of night..which starts the feeling like rubbish next day cycle... I hope your feeling ok and these forums are usually good for personal experiences of others who are going through it too and sometimes

Helps put your mind at rest.. your not alone with this and as frightening as it can be and debilitating try not let it beat you... get out in the fresh air even just for small walk around your block a day I've noticed this has helped pick me up a little...

Keep your mind buzy with positive thoughts anytime a negative thought comes in go read something uplifting or watch something that you know will make you laugh get it out your mind as quick as it went in.. you are perfectly healthy physically it's just gonna take some time mentally to get to a place where you are in control but you will get there...it won't last forever.. it's a mere bump in the road...
