ok,i see so much stories without happy endings that i am ,and im usually positive, feeling that this may be the new awful reality!!! Burning, itchy, and i woke up today to very short lashes not all gone but length has gone. Please share some positive stories of where you are the hero wearing eyemakeup and not giving your eyes a second thought!!!!!! share stories of how you overcame and kicked blepharitis in the a$$,lol
I would love to be the one to do that......until the eye doctors and
drug companies realize we are a world of untapped profits I'm
afraid there is not much research on Bleph.....too bad for us.
lol, faye, not promising..... come on,there has to be some stories of how it became livable or went into remission or something, just anything, lol not you faye.... you are ready commented, negative nelly
lol
Well. lets see.....would you like me to lie?
However there has been some occasions when it was better
than other times. I do believe I had a week in 2003 that was
good......no seriously, it does ebb and flow. Some days
are better than others.....keep your sense of humour
and maybe that will make you feel more upbeat....
awww, thanks faye, who knows,in every hardship is where we grow in humility, understanding and strength... Although it sucks and im suffering now,and we are all suffering in our own bleph hell, i have to truly believe that a lesson will come out of it for our goodness....now what that lesson maybe,i dont know, but it better be some good stuff for all this im putting up with! lol ps. yes ,yes ,faye, lil white upbeat encouraging ones never hurt! lie lie
joking
If there is a lesson to be learned from 25 years of Bleph I'm
still waiting to learn it....I think probably the only good thing
about Bleph is that it is not terminal.....I've got issues that
I have to deal with and feel blessed that they're nothing that will
kill me just annoy the hell out of me......and actually Bleph
is second on that list.....
Do the warm soaks and gently clean lids with lid cleaner
such as Occusoft and it will get better. Maybe take a
couple of Aleve or something over the counter if you can
and it will help with the pain.....
The day I accepted that I had to go out "au naturel" and simply get rid of all eye makeup and mascara..... life changed a bit. It got easier to keep blepharitis under control and I realized that I could look really good without anything artificial.
The second thing was to find what works best for me and stick with it. I'm definitely not cured, but for the last couple of years I don't have to think about it too much.
I use wipes 3 times daily and artificial tears and that's it. If I were to insist on eye makeup, I would be back at square one and suffering greatly .... it's just not worth it.
If you stay positive.... It helps
I think a lot of women's problem is that they don't want to give
up the eye-make-up. It's pretty awful to look at yourself in
the mirror and see a blank face with swollen, red, crusty
watery eyes. I feel for those that work, they have to go out
and face the world. However if you want the Bleph to get
better and be bearable you have to get make-up off your
eyes. I was working when diagnosed about 25 years ago
but had no problem giving up the make-up to get relief
from the Bleph. I'm still doing warm soaks and use
Occusoft wipes to clean the crust off. Problem is that it
comes right back. It's a daily fight.......
You are absolutely right.... the younger you are, the harder it is to accept it. I still wish I could wear mascara, but I choose not to linger on the thought.
Happy Easter everyone
When it gets better......you can buy some throw away
mascara wands on Amazon.....I think that some ladies
used them thinking that you keep infecting yourself if
you use the same make-up. You use one of these and
then toss it. Something to look forward to....
I've been thinking about these wands. It's probably time for me to order them
I may have to go makeup-less too. I have decided to wear it on special occasions. I don't mind no eye make up, except with few lashes and red rimmed lids, I look pretty bad. Many women my age wear no eye make up and look pretty good, but their eyes don't have thickened edges and aren't red. MAYBE, without using eye make up for awhile that will improve. I've done the soaks religiously for over two years and eyelid scrubs for 3 years, they look just like they did when all of this first started. I am still doing the scrub every night and using polymycin ointment and Azasite drops one week on, then a week off. I also use Genteal Extreme Dry Eye gel drops if I awake during the night or when I am off of the other two antibiotics. All of of this has helped. I am now, thanks to this website using the Wet Ones and think I do get relief. No eye make up is my last resort.
I really miss wearing mascara but would only consider wearing on very special occasions, however i did wonder if anyone has had there eyelashes tinted / dyed and if so did this aggrevate there blepharitis.
To my ladies who wore makeup like a kardashian, thats right,i was one of those that wore shadow with glitter, liquid liner on top pencil on bottom, and pounds of mascara................ day in and day out!!!! I have come to the conclusion,i am going to buy all kinds of lipsticks and large sexy earrings as well as trying to do my best with this condition. I find it ironic that im a hairdresser and makeup artist and now instead of smokey eye on myself its for all my clients..... dont loose your sexy, thats right ,no matter the age,no matter the illness,BRING BACK YOUR SEXY ,NO EYE MAKEUP AND ALL!!!!!!!!!!!! ps. tried the throw away mascara wands ,didnt work, tried it all........
never tried the tint, but wear dark lipstick and blush, i heard of it in the industry, try it!
Why didn't the wands work? Is it because they are no good or because it caused your blepharitis to flare up?
it wasnt the apps that cauased flare up,it was the makeup itself. i used all different throw away apps.
