I'm a major hypochondriac and im freaking out about something small

So i know all the precautions to take while someone has a cold sore , but my main question is is once the cold sore is completely gone, is the virus still in your saliva? and if so does that mean i'll still be able to get it even if there is no cold sore present just by kissing, or other things?

The virus which causes coldsores is present in everyone, it just sometimes becomes activated. It's not serious or harmful

So basically if there isn't a cold sore present , it can't be passed on to me in any way

If you had the cold sore, the virus stays  in your system. You may never get another symptom or you may get another cold sore. Everybody is different but  The vast majority of people have the virus in their system  and don't even know it

.  Many people with the virus will never have a symptom but can pass the virus on sometimes.  It's usually passed on when someone has a visible cold sore on the mouth, but possible anytime.

 It's annoying but harmless.
