I'm getting incredibly frustrated with how my doctors are treating me

I’m fairly certain I’ve got anxiety… even my doctors seem to think I’ve got anxiety and Worcestershire Healthy Minds seem to think I’ve got anxiety. Except I’ve never gotten an official diagnosis and my doctors have never even seemed to try with my case.

I think my anxiety causes a lot of physical symptoms… I don’t know if this is typical or not but I have really bad headaches, fatigue, really bad chest pains (to the point where I literally can’t even breath without it hurting… it’s awful), muscle pains, it makes my psoriasis so much worse. I can’t leave my bed some days and my doctors know this. I get blood tests and they’re “just outside normal range”… I get EKGs and they’re fine… (blood pressure and heart rate isn’t though). After each of these tests, nurses say they’ll call me back (they don’t). Honestly if they actually think anxiety is causing this why don’t they just bother and get me some sort of treatment. I had to bloody self refer myself to Worcestershire Healthy Minds and I’ve been on a waiting list for about a year now with nothing. This has been going on since I’ve been about 14/15

Like is it so hard for my doctors to just try with me…? I mean this one time I was talking about how I was feeling suicidal and they didn’t bother with me at all?? Like they just sent me home?? The only reason I got out of the worst of it was that my school noticed how bad I was and gave me free counselling… and now my doctors are telling me to get school counselling again (I don’t even think my school offers it to sixth form students and even if they did I would only get it free for 6 sessions and then I’d have to pay which I can’t do.). Like what’s the point in even trying with them anymore?

Doctors can be very frustrating and mental health can cause so many issues, emotionally and physically. I know how you feel, i myself suffer with anxiety and have lots of physical symptoms because of it. My doctor has ran multiple tests which have all come back clear so they just put it down to anxiety. What is it that you’re wanting from them? More tests to confirm nothing is wrong with you medically or a prescription for anti depressents or something?

hey, i recommend you go to a hospital instead of a more private institutions. My experience with hospital doctors are never bad, doctors seemed to always be more knowledgeable, and seem to care and want to listen more. I find most smaller medical institutions try to rush you, or try to quickly diagnose you so you can go. all the best
