I've never had anxiety that doesn't want to go away so my doctor prescribed lexopro and clonazepam. I've been on lexopro for 10 days so I'm waiting for it to kick in .the clonazepam does help me calm down . my major problem is that im really not hungry but gotta eat ,when i eat something I get anxiety .Does anyone have this problem.
Hi, I’m on Lexapro and the first few weeks I lost my appetite too. I lost about 15 lbs. Some days I forgot to eat! About the 3rd or 4th week I started to eat more. I don’t know if you get nausea when you take it but, taking it with food works and no nausea. I’m taking for depression and anxiety too due to peri. I was on 5 mg’s for 3 weeks because I couldn’t handle 10 mg’s at first. It wasn’t really helping though the 5 so, my doctor had me up it to 10 mg’s and said that - that was the actual therapeutic dose you should take. I’m on that now 3 more weeks and it’s just now starting to kick in. My symptoms were severe though and everyone is different. You may feel better in a couple weeks. I hope so. Sending you hugs!!!

i am on the same meds. i felt the same way in the beginning. it takes a little while for your body to get used to the medicine. I lost about 12 pounds when I first started. I really started to notice a difference after being on Lexapro for about a month and a half.
I lost 15 lbs but I force my food so i won’t lose anymore but i will hang in there .I’m only on the tenth day of lexapro…thanks for your reply…patience I guess is a virtue
can I ask what you mean by anxiety when you eat. I think I have the same when I est. I feel physically terrible. shakes, palpitations, headache, body aches it’s crazy x
hi, for some reason I don’t have an appetite becauseI feel my anxiety, but I force myself to eat and when I do eat I start to have heart palpitations and I feel more anxious. I’m on lexopro for 2 weeks and I take clonazepam. I tried not taking clonazepam so I won’t get hooked but friends that are going through this too said take it until the lexopro kicks in. so now I took half of a 5 mg at 1PM to relax me and I actually got hungry and ate.my conclusion is that I’m going to take clonazepam so it can relax me and eventually get an appetite. hopefully when lexopro starts working I won’t need clonazepam all the time only when really needing it.
