I'm so worried that I could have cancer... (Or is it in my head?!)

I'm going to use the forum to lay everything on the table. This will be the last post I make and the last time I google symptoms. Okay, here it goes...

Starting about 3 months ago I started to get this tickle in my throat that would make me hack and clear my throat for a good 15 minutes straight. I saw about 4 doctors within the first month to a month and a half. After none of the meds helped (omep for a few or two/ allergy meds for a week or two) I felt helpless...

I decided then to make a appointment with a ENT that was very thorough and did a larynoscopy. ( looked at my vocal cord or whatever) After googling a bit, I came up with the idea that I had lingual tonsil cancer. Since then I had visted twice more, the last time he took a small mirror and looked at my lingual tonsils. He basically hinted at me that I needed to see a psycheatrist, or basically get better anxiety meds. and I can feel a lump. I made another appointment (a month later) to come see him on the 12th. In the mean time I have been so anxious and worked up, I almost throw up when I think about it. On top of all of this my left lymph node swelled up about 2-3 days ago (feels a little bit bigger then a peanut outside of its shell).

ps: I am 19 and a male

I smoked cigarrettes from age 17-18 (quit about 7 or so months ago)

Had pretty bad health anxiety since I was a about 13.

Agree you should stop googling, if you have a scab it will tell you you have lepracy ( no disrespect) it just raises our anxiety. I don't understand why it would be your last post , the people who post here actually know what your symptoms feel like and are very happy to offer support and reasurance. You do obsess about your health but you asking for help which is good. I for years have obsessed about everything to the point of despair. Your not alone . Your lymph nodes I have, come and go, usually just a sign your run down. You are right to go to doc, get checks, also maybe Cbt, change these negative thoughts around. Please keep talking ( to me it's like therapy or counciling, you are getting these thoughts out , not just in your own head)❤️

You have been seen by ENT and they have looked and performed tests and all is ok.

Sometimes the Adams Apple can be felt in the central area front in your throat

You looking through Google is best avoided, you will imagine things wrong with you the are basically normal, you need to be able to trust the medical professionals who have done tests and tried to put your mind at rest.

Anxiety can be treated and under the situation you find yourself in your GP will be able to introduce a treatment plan to help you suppress and understand your Anxiety. Given time hopefully you will learn coping techniques.

Stop Googling
