Lol, I'm not a Dr. bring that list to your Dr. I know someone who had 1 outbreak her whole life and never gave it to her partner. Both me and my husband have it and he never gets OB but I do. Yes you can give it to someone. Safe sex if you have it! No there is not a cure. No it will not kill you. Yes you can live a happy life. Me and my husband both have it and have been married for many years.

I have major nerve issues but that's because I've had two back surgeries so I would not know what it was from unfortunately
Doctors act so dumb about this virus and they don't take it seriously. They don't want to answer question nor do they care to discuss it.
I believe people can go there whole life without ever having a OB. I also believe with some people it can only be spread if there is an OB.
There's no know cure but after tons of research I believe Olive extract is the closest thing you will get.

Yes, although most asymptomatic people do actually experience symptoms/outbreaks, just not recognised ones, because they're so mild and tend to get passed off for other other things like yeast, jock itch, etc.

Genital Type 1 rarely spreads through sexual intercourse. Genital Type 2 can, however, and very easily, but it still doesn't happen all the time with every sexual encounter, etc., so it depends.

Women get more of most STDs because of the way we're stupidly built (receptive sex organ with a large surface area of easy to infect mucous membranes).

Herpes is complicated, but they are working on a therapeutic vaccine. Olive leaf extract is not a cure or near-cure, by the way. Saw that mentioned by another person here and there have been a few posters pushing OLE specifically just very recently on this forum, which is odd, if not suspicious.

Don't know what you mean. Once infected, you have it for life.

In rare cases, but generally not.

It can cause nerve issues, but whether such issues are permanent damage, I'm less sure. Usually temporary and recoverable, I would have said.

Shooting leg pain, numbness in feet, that kind of thing, etc. Most people don't get these problems, however.

Yes to the first two, but admittedly harder to find someone with the additional burden of having this (Type 2 in particular), unless they have it, too!

Many doctors only know the original literature on herpes and are not up to speed with the latest info, so you will still hear some saying you can't spread herpes without symptoms and other dubious advice, plus loads who don't know that IgM testing is useless.

I see you felt the desire to correct my response.
However I never said it was a cure but I did say the closest thing too.
I research quite a lot and I read that it can reduce the OBs and limit transmission amongst other things.
This was out of an WebMD article.
WebMD doesn't even mention herpes under "possible uses" when you look up their guide to supplements/medicines. A quick search on Google for olive leaf extract and herpes also pulls up a bunch of mostly dubious sites and alleged testimonials, but nothing legit. OLE is no doubt the wonder health supplement at the moment (it's everywhere!), but it's no cure for herpes, near or otherwise, and the only way to significantly reduce shedding and transmission is by the meds.
I receive WEBMD newsletters and mail daily! Please don't tell me what I've read and didn't read.
I myself do plan on trying the Olive Leaf extract not in hopes of a cure but to see if it will keep my body from experiencing those horrible breakouts some people experience.

I'm not telling you what you've read, lol, only what I just read now and saw amongst the Google search results. PubMed also lists no research studies for OLE and herpes, incidentally, unless I somehow used the wrong search terms, but unlikely.
Nope, not a physician, but well-read and familiar with what the main HSV experts say (including key research on herpes) to correct blatantly wrong info (e.g., IgM or pcr blood testing for herpes, herpes cures, etc.) or point out statements that lack any or adequate clinical proof (e.g., lysine/arginine diet, lysine supplementation, etc.).
People can try whatever they like, but should at least know when there is insufficient evidence for something, so just pointing that out, especially since you described OLE as the closest thing to a cure (not proven at all), plus I have seen other bolder OLE cure claims from a couple of others on this forum in just these past 2-3 days, yet not before, which is odd.
OK, I understand totally! I use WebMD and MayoClinic sites quite a bit as credible sources on my papers. So I get emails of various topics and newsletters daily. I'm not going to debate this issue. I'm trying to educate myself on the virus that I now carry in my body.
