i need help im dying

hello, i had a what i think was a needle stick injury at work, i work for the airport and it is our job to carry bags, i was carrying a bag when it hit my knee and i felt something sharp, i wasn't sure what it was so i looked in the bag and saw a needle, in a toothbrush container the original packing of a toothbrush the needle was empty and the plunger was down it was, facing downwards in the cardboard of the toothbrush container but it wasn't poking to where it would stick me.so to make sure it didnt stick me i went to our first aid kit got some alcohol swabs and swabbed the area,

i didn't feel a sting or anything, but i still have fears that it stuck me because, i went to the doctor shortly after, they told me no to worry it was a small chance i would catch HIV from a needle stick, i asked them could they please at least place me on PEP to make sure, the doctor refused, he wouldn't even run tests they laughed me out the building, saying im worrying too much now it has been 19 days and im having symptoms, one being stuffy nose sneezing, a painful lump in my armpit and i think a lump behind my neck. no sore throat but some headaches, now i have a low grade fever of 99 im not sure if its the flu or a cold, but the symptoms match and im afraid it has started, if the doctors could have at least gave me pep i wouldnt be going though this, now i feel im HIV positive. i know cant know for sure from symptoms but these symptoms are strong at the moment, it could be the flu as i work in the elements at night with very little clothing, im so scared to get tested

Hey Buddy

I’m sorry that you are going through this. You may have nothing to do worry about it. But go to a walk in clinic they should do a test. Tell them you just want to know for sure.

Have a good day…Being upset can trigger things to happen…Ken

its like really rare to get it from niddle. Doctor says NO then consider them. Dont go mad by thinking what u dont have .

Hi there, bless you, that sounds like such a stressful event for you. I would trust your doctor when they say you’re okay. If they thought there was a chance they would have given you treatment. When you worry about an illness or convince yourself you have it, you can start to experience symptoms even though you do not have it! The mind is a very powerful thing. You have a cold or the flu and its just an annoying coincidence it’s at this time, making you worry even more. Get tested at a walk in clinic just to put your mind at ease. If you don’t have a free walk in clinic, there are some local charities which do routine blood tests now and then in your local area, have a google  But most importantly, relax and calm yourself, you have nothing to worry about.
