Hsv1 'travels' around the body easier... But has low viral shedding from the genital area... High shedding if mouth area is infected. The time most likely to spreAd from a persons genitals to the same persons mouth is during initial outbreak before antibodies are strong.
Hsv2 is only found away from the genitals 2% of time.
