So when I was a child a lot of bad things happened to me at the age of 16 I was on anti depressants for a year I took myself off them but now being 22 I am really struggling with life in general sometimes I'll go without food because it would mean leaving the house. I can't stand crowds of people I hate buses I am very unhappy sociable I avoid speaking to people at all costs. I always replay things in my head let's say a text message I receive I will read the same text over and over for maybe upto an hour for no real reason. I feel like I have no control over my life and my feelings anymore. I have a doctors appointment today but don't know where to start tbh.
Daniel. The doctors appointment is a great start! Anxiety and social phobia is a normal disorder and can be treated for sure. Talk open and honestly with the doctor. If they offer meds, stick with it. It can take awhile, but will help. Also if you’re able to go to a therapist or talk to family or friends would be helpful. Anxiety is an imbalance of chemicals and can be helped. Going to the doctor is going in the right direction.
Hey thanks for reading this it's my first time ever posting on something like this I went to my appointment with some pushing from my gf he diagnosed me with severe anxiety depression and possible obsessive phycosis or how ever you spell it I have to have an ecg bloods etc on Monday then other appointment on Thursday wasn't given any medication as of yet because he said he wants to know more before prescribing anything as he doesn't want to give me something that isn't going to help me.
Awesome! Congratulations on getting the healing process started! I’m also glad to hear you have support from your gf. This website is a great place to find support and encouragement. Full of people who are going through the same thing you are. Even if you need to pm me, that’s fine. As you probably realize it is a slow journey to feel “ok”. But stay with it. You’ll be so glad you’re helping yourself. Should be proud of yourself for stepping out of your comfort zone!
