For over a year now, I've been peeing very frequently, 30-40 times a day, usually every 20 minutes but at random times I will have to pee every 3-5 minutes for at least an hour. I never know when it's going to happen or what's going to "trigger" it but when it happens I absolutely cannot hold it. I've seen my doctor and a specialist, I've done a urine test, blood test, kidney ultrasound, bladder ultrasound, scope, everything has come back normal, and the doctor and the specialist both don't know why this is happening let alone what to do about it. I don't drink a lot of fluids whatsoever. I have seen some other people report a similar problem and think that it may be due to anxiety or stress, my doctor gave me a small dose of anxiety pills but it didn't seem to work, not sure if I should go back and try asking for a higher dose
Measure output
Do you have any pain? My two
Thoughts are you could have overactive bladdder or Interstitial Cystitis. I assume because you say you aren't drinking much that when you pee it's very small volumes. Your bladder has now gotten used to not holding much urine. It becomes a bad cycle. And yes stress or anxiety about it is understandable but makes the urinary issues worse. I have OAB. At my worst I peed every 15 minutes. There are lots of things to try to help with urgency/frequency. Medication, pelvic floor physical therapy, bladder training, e-stim, lifestyle changes such as bladder friendly diet, and if none of that helps, a pacemaker for the bladder called Interstim. Good luck! I finally got my bladder under control after over a year of trial and error with meds and lots of pelvic floor PT.
There's no pain and it's full volumes each time, thank you I should go back and try different medication and look into PT
I've had this exact same problem since I was 18 and I'm 35 now. Saw all the doctors, did all the tests, no one knew what was wrong with me. I have tried medications before, but none of them worked. What medication did you use that actually worked? Thank you.
I have had very similar experience. My issue has started since 14 and I am now 30. Out of desperation I was searching sites for answers. I drink a good amount of water daily. Eat extremely clean. No extra stimulants of any kind. Workout regularly including pelvic exercise. I have seen 3 urologist who have not been able to pin point cause. I've tried every prescription. I've had botox injected into bladder (kinda sorta helped but didn't begin to address issue), they tried stretching my bladder and urethra. And now they want to attempt using a pacemaker which they really think might be a small chance of success bc the last doctor thinks it's (forgot proper name of diagnosis) inflammation of the bladder. Where the body is kind of attacking the bladder which causes need to also want to urinate. Also cause pain and discomfort in urethra. Also forgot to mention that I easily go 30-50 times a day. If anyone has any ideas or success in treatment PLEASE SHARE!!!! Thanks in advance.
Also forgot to mention I sympathize with the need to go every 5 mins in an hr.. and every test result of mine also came back normal.
So do the pelvic exercises help at all?
Hi, the past 15 years, i've had to get out of bed 10-15 times a night. Is anyone here doing that...during the night? Am i alone with this? The past two urologist's haven't helped me at all. I cant' tolerate any kind of medicine, so most were useless.
I have had the inter-stim implant, that doesn't help at all either. I turned it off about 8 months back because it was worse WITH IT. It feels like a strong pinch right where the bladder neck is at. Any ideas?
10-15 times is so much I'm so sorry to hear that I wake up every 2 hours, 3 if I'm lucky but I can't even remember the last time I was able to sleep for more than 4 hours in a row, it's very exhausting especially if you have a hard time going back to sleep after
Hello, sorry to hear you are still having issues despite the Interstim. Just curious if you spoke to the Medtronic rep and tried different programs/settings to see if any help? I've heard here are hundreds of programs to try if your current settings aren't helping. Interstim shouldn't be making you feel worse unless your issue is not related to the sacral nerve signals from bladder to brain. Hoping you get some answers!
Oh yea, i went to see the nurse many times over the 2 years i had it, and it didn't help or change anything. I actually believe it's not what they say, about sending brain signals and all that. All i feel is the electrical stimulation down there when turned up. I think their's nothing more to it than that. I should get it taken out, but never get around to doing it. I see my family Dr. in a couple weeks...think i might get a referral to a new Urologist from her.
Have you made any progress with your issue? I have the same issue, I'm 24 now but I've been dealing with this since I was 14. I pee so much, and when an "episode" happens my urine turns clear and I go every 5 minutes for like 45 minutes. It's awful. I can actually "feel" when an episode is happening, it's like I'm feeling my bladder fill up.
My just started. I had blood in my urine like a year ago which I feel wasn’t treated properly. Year on it was still there without being noticed. Now I have received a proper treatment but recently started having so much urge to urine every 5 mins is my issue at the moment. I feel this problem most like is a bacteria or virus not treatable or traceable at the moment.
Hi
I’m so sorry to hear your story it sounds really similar to me I have a stone in my kidney and cyst so I think this may aggreviate it. Are you taking any medications ?
Best wishes
Gill
I am currently not on any medication. Although my doctor suggested I take Vesicare for 3 months but I refused it due what he said are the side
I am not on any medication. Although my consultant suggested that I take solifenancin 5mg but I didn’t accept it due to what he described as possible side effect. But I did a kidney, prostate and bladder examination all came back normal
I take vesicare and amitriptyline at night I find it really helps me the worse side effect is a very dry mouth, I also have caffeine free tea. How do you manage your daily routine needing the loo so much? Gill
I read online and have tried so many natural remedies from Holland and Barrett such as cranberry pills, marshmallow, Uva Ursi, pumpkin seed oil and Quercetin plus vitamin C. In all I felt some relief using the last two. At the moment I am taking it and I do sleep well at night ( using the toilet twice and rarely thrice ) and reduce my visits to the toilet greatly during the day although some days are horrible. I have started to do some bladder training to help me as well ie hold back my wee for sometime before going to the toilet. I will see my consultant again soon.
wow... same issue as mine. believe me I have lived up with this for 10 years. interestingly my wife also got this urine issue. at times it looks like water. no matter how much water I drink,I keep go in every 30 mins and full bladder. I think I might know what it is. a) I have thrush which 2nd candida Infection otherwise it won't explain how my wife got it. b) the other issue could be related to fapping as I believe I might have done not excessively in adulthood and throw my hormones out of whack. do you guys have similar issues? if so we can conclude what it could be?
