I have an question I just found out that I have herpes type 2 & my partner that I have been having sex with unprotected & both been doing oral has cold sores which is herpes type 1 but he just got tested & it was negative could he have gave me herpes type 2 ?
Although cold sores are usually caused by HSV1 they can occasionly be caused by HSV2 especially if they have been picked up by oral sex. So it is possible. It would be helpful if your partner could get tested to find out what type of HSV they have.
He got tested & it came back negative but he has cold sore .
If he is negative then he couldn't have given you the Herpes. Must have come from somewhere else.
