Hi Teresa,  no worries, we can't read and remember everything.  I was going to advise Paula to ask for a referral to a Rheumatologist then noticed that she had already seen one.  It's in her initial post second paragraph

Hi Paula, yes you are young but age does not exclude you. They are full of it that's why you have to find out things for yourself. Do lots of research. I still do research and I've had it for 17 years now. You have to be your own advocate. I have a good doctor that understands and she knows that I do research and she welcomes my knowledge because she doesn't know very much herself. Check out the disability. There is a wealth of information on there as well. I worked for them as an advocate for a little while because you can work from home. Another thing that I found out is that fibromyalgia is genetic. There are 3 other cousins of mine that have it and mine seems to be the worst. I had to stop working. I wish and pray that you have much success in dealing with and obtaining more information about this horrible illness. I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy if I had one. I have a picture that I want to send you when I find it. Take care of yourself.

Today i feel an emotional mess and keep cryibg randomly. Does anyone else struggle some daya with having energy to even get ready and go to the shop? I constantly feel drained and struggle to get ready on my days off work. Does anyone have any advice for this? Xx

Hi paula, i was diagnosed with fibro a few weeks ago im only 23. I had problems for around 3 years leading up to going to doctors. I would be falling asleep by 7-8 clock always fatigue and muscles acheing. I went to see a rheumatologist around 2 year ago and was told i have benign hypermobility syndrome however this is something you have to live with there is no cure just a healthy life style and exercise. However none of what i was advised to do was helping my back pain or tiredness. I got worse rapidly in march this year i woke up one day feeling as though i had physically been in a car accident my body was acheing so bad i had 12 hours sleep and felt like i had none i couldnt move. Eventually after 4 days of waking up the same i went back to doctors which sent me back to rheumatology. This time around a lot of symptoms had changed. I had fallen down the stairs 4 times in 1 month as my knees just give way randomly. My shoulders have started to lock up and click(very loud) around 20 times a day. I get around 10 unexplained bruises per leg constantly recurring once one lot dissapear within one nights sleep there back. I get tired so easy when doing any sort of activity even just ironing or taking my dog out for a walk. Fibro is very demanding and changes your life ive since had to leave my place of work as i cant guarantee i get get there on time depending on how my body is when i wake up. I was also told from my last blood tests around 4 weeks ago i have vit d deficiency and a few weeks before that low folic acid levels all my xrays came back normal. After this my rheumatologist advised she was diagnosing fibro and my gp has prescribed me a form of anti depressant that has been seen to help relieve fibro symptoms.

Hope this has give you a little of what you were looking for x

Thanks very much for your message. That sounds awful and exactly the same as me. I wake up some days and feel like I have been run over by a car or a huge elephant haha it feels like broken bones all over my body some days. I have been on anti depressant for it but didn't give me any relief at all. I have gave up with the doctors as after going to the doctors for 8 years I can tell they don't take it serious or won't diagnose me so I am going to go down the route of vitamins and hollistic care and hopefully eventually I will get some relief. Thanks very much for replying, just speaking to me is making me feel better xx

HI

How is your thryroid?  The theory around hypothyroidism and fibromyalgia is that there is a study (Pubmed) where rats  were made hypothyroid which happened to have also doubled their lifespan. My endocrinologist confirmed that hypothyroid people do live longer but have other problems...and it kind of explains why im almost 50 with no gray hairs. I got my first gray about 5 months ago. Its no longer there....most people I know and people in my family have gray hair by the time they are mid 30s.

So the theory about lifespan...with longer lifespan means that your cells are not turning over as fast..which also means you dont' need to eat much..or smaller portions throughout the day.  So parts of your body's systems moves lower and turns over slower than other systems. I believe that the muscle and joint pain is kind of like when you work out real hard or get banged up in a accident...you sleep one or two nights..and you really feel better and "repaired" after you sleep. Well sleep sucks with Fibro as it is and your body is not repairing so fast..so it may take 3 days of long uninterrupted sleep...just to get a fix.

I seem to manage it all well without drugs.

SLEEP: I make NO EXCEPTIONS on the weekend...while my house may not be as neat or clean as it used to....and I let the dishes pile up...my sleeping in on the weekends are a MANDATORY THING.  I also have a job which starts later and ends later 11-7pm PERFECT.  Because the mornings are the worst..and if your sleep sucks..you can make it up with a power nap from 8am-10am..which happens to be the best hours I get for sleep for some reason.  You can makeup for doing chores on the day you feel well. It works out so much better when you do.

The other thing that helps is PINEAPPLE..its has "bromelain" and enzyme.  Pineapple aka "the Flesh Eating" fruit. It forces your cells to "turnover" and forces your metabolism to generate new cells...you can read about it online.  MUST BE FRESH CUT from the Pineapple. It takes 24-48 hours to feel lighter..like you are not fighting gravity. Less pain.  Also, having a cup of strong coffee... with something to eat alleviates pain..and increases energy feel.

VITAMIND D- at least 5000m a DAY!!!

I also must take Levothyroxine for the TSH Thyroid issue.

But thats about it for me...as long as you are hypothyroid and have Fibromyalgia...that's the theory..and it seems to apply.
