I’ve been driving myself crazy these past few days. I had unprotected sex with a guy I’m dating for around 8 months now. We always used condom but this last March 18th we did it without it for the first time. Everything was fine, we did it one more time and then last Wednesday we did it again but we used condom. Before that I had shaved twice in the same week and got a little irritated.
This last time we had sex it was super intense and I ended up feeling a bit sore in my vulva and vagina. My urethra was swollen and all red, next day I couldn’t pee properly because of the pain. Initially I thought it was cystitis but then I saw two small lesions in my pelvic area an external labia of the vulva. I went to my gyno and she said it could be syphilis, so she prescribed some Azithromycin pills, a Ceftriaxone injection, and to put on clotrimazole cream for 3 days. Also, I took a blood test for syphilis and came back negative.
Right after that, I started noticing some bumps and papules forming in my labia and the vagina opening. Of course I started to freak out bc I did not have that before, over the days I’ve seen more of those and last time I put panties on I could not stand the friction and got a few more papules on the area. It hurts a lot and now it’s looking like ulcers. I don’t have much discharged but whenever I go to pee and wipe I see some weird coloured yellowish discharged.

Went back to the doctor, she said lesions do not look exact like herpes but it could be so she prescribed Acyclovir pills and some blood tests for both HSV 1 - HSV 2. I have already taken IGG test for HSV 2 and it was negative but I am scared bc I know maybe I don’t have the antibodies in my system yet since it is a new virus.

I am completely devastated, my partner says he does not have anything, he is fine, never had any symptoms or something related in the past so honestly I don’t know what to think.

These are some pictures of how it’s been looking the past few days. Do you think this is definitely herpes? Because I cannot find any other explanation. Please help !!!

I don’t want to alarm you, but it does look like an STD at least, but it does resemble herpes.
The complicated part is that you may not have contracted it from this partner or if you did, he may not even know he has it because males are more likely to be asymptomatic or carriers.

I really hope you get some answers and start feeling better!

I think that’s very understandable.
For me, the hardest part has been working through my shame/embarrassment, but its getting better with time.

So today I received my test blood results for HSV 2 and they were negative!!! I’ll update when I have the results for HSV 1.

Do you guys think is not safe to trust blood tests in this case? I’m kinda unsure and at the laboratory I went to they didn’t offer me swab test. At this point I’m way better, I no longer have pain or visible lesions. I don’t even have crusts so idk, I’m a little confused here. Maybe it’s HSV 1 or hopefully something else. I’ll keep you guys posted.

Even if HSV1 is positive, it’s much more common with mouth sores. Great news HSV2 was negative :partying_face: i would possibly attempt to get a swab done before it completely heals just for a little more peace of mind. I’m thinking about you, I’ve never felt so heartbroken and anxious in my life! :broken_heart::broken_heart::broken_heart:

Hey there, so I have a new update. Turns out my IGG test for HSV 1 is positive. The IGM was negative tho. I’ve never had cold sores in my life so I guess it was bad luck I got HSV 1 down there.
Anyways, it is what it is. Only thing left is to accept it and move on, right? Life doesn’t have to end because of it.
At least now I know what it was and I can take care of it.
