I think something is going wrong with my brain

I have had a constant headache for abot a month now, feels like a pressure and I'm stggling doing things I sed to be able to do easily. I'm 17 and in college. When reading things off the board I have to look mltiple times at a cople of lines jst to remember, in fact i'm having lots of trobles with my memory and rememebering things in general. Often I forget what I'm saying or doing in the middle of doing it! I also am starting to stuggle to feel emotions at times, at timesI should be distraught or sad I'm emtionless and it confuses me. Like I had a massive argement with my girlfriend today abot something I massively over reacted to and I felt nothing. I also have troubles with balance, even when standing still! Finally when being told something or reading something important I struggle totake it in and remember it, which is troubling my grades.

Sorry about bad grammar I have a huge headache and I cant think straight.

Have you talked to a doctor about it?

No not yet, booked an appointment jst wanted toknow if anyone had any idea what it could be?

Good luck, I hope it all goes well.

Hi Charlie have you been to see your Dr, if not you should, and tell him/her your symptoms. Ask for an emergency appointment.

Do you have a sinus infection or a bout with mono? Have you had a cold in the last six weeks? Maybe see a gp. You sound exhausted and worn out.

Headaches can cause memory problems and eyesight problems, so throwing those things out (so as to not muddle the primary problem:  the headache), you have several possibilities, all from the mundane -- Sinus Infection -- to the deadly serious -- brain tumor.

This forum cannot possibly help you without worrying you and making your headache worse, so until you can get to a doctor (pronto), take some advice from this 46 year old chronic headache sufferer:

1. Rest when and all you can, preferrably in a dark and quiet room.

2. Try one of these two things, or do them together:  icepack on the back of the neck at the base of the skull, or heating pad to the front of the head (forehead).

3. Try motrin, not tylenol. If a migraine from swollen blood vessels, the motrin will help some.

4. Drink as much water as you can (maximum of 10 glasses a day, though. You can actually hurt yourself with too much water just as well as too little). As a young college student, you may not be drinking enough, and as a result, you are hypostatic, so your bloodpressure rises to compensate for the loss of blood volume.

5. Go get your eyes checked as well. It may be eye related...not head!

6. Change either your sleeping position, or your sleeping tool i.e. your bed. A bad neck from lack of proper sleeping tools (good, firm mattress, rather flat pillow, no acute neck-bending) can also cause some KILLER headaches from pinched or tender nerves running along the sizes and back of your neck and upper back.

7. GET ENOUGH SLEEP, AND NO ALCOHOL!

8. Don't smoke or be aroung smoke.

These things will help some, despite what is causing the headaches. Best of Luck to you, and drop me a note when you see the doc....you'll be in my prayers smile
