I think this is chronic Anxiety Disorder

I woke up one morning 2 weeks ago with numbness in hands, feet, jaw. Also had sweaty hands, feet. Eyes sensitive to bright light. Coordination problems. Muscle aches. The one that concerned me the most is muscle twitching. I'm getting muscle twitching in my hands, fingers, arms, legs, back, butt, bottom lip. Which makes me think I have ALS or MS.

Now i still have sweaty hands and feet, muscle aches.  the muscle twitching, but everything else has somewhat gone away.

What is this? Been to the ER 4 times this week. 2 ct scans of head and 1 MRI of head came back normal. Blood work also normal. What's wrong with me?

Oh and btw I'm a 25 year old male

Hi

Have you had any nerve conduction tests or been referred to a neurologist to exclude your wort fars? Has anyone checked your antibodies or thyroid function for any potential auto immune disease or thyroid disorder?

some analgesia can cause certain signs and symptoms . These are known as withdrawal signs and symptoms and are very unpleasant.

Codeine is now well kknown for this.

hi, I know how scary that can be. But I hope my answer eases your mind. When I was in my 20s I had all the same symptoms you have. Plus more. The muscle twitching is very common with anxiety and stress. Many athletes get that because of how they use their muscles. With ALS, You don't get that until later stages. Muscle twitching is common for many other reasons.

I had muscle twitching in my arms, legs, but ox, even my eyelid, are you name it. The reason we get the symptoms is because when we are in process, or brain is  very over anxious because that's where it begins. All this energy the brain has mustard up actually comes out as the symptoms we experience. The energy has to go somewhere. Usually we get neurological symptoms so people think they have some terrible disease when it's actually all stress related.

my eyes were also sensitive to bright light and I used to get sweaty palms in upper lip which is also due to anxiety.

I am now in my 50s and I am still here! LOL you see, any symptoms related to anxiety cannot hurt you. They feel scary and uncomfortable but that's all they can do.

The key to this whole thing is relaxing your mind. When you do this the brain stop sending out adrenaline which can cause the sweaty palms etc. and your symptoms diminish. When you get all worked up over symptoms, your brain will send out more adrenaline and then there you go again with symptoms. It's a vicious circle.

what has helped me is first of all I went and spoke with the counselor who helped me figure out why am so anxious in the first place. It really helps to vent to someone else who can help. Next, I listen to meditations on YouTube for anxiety a couple times a day. Many of these teach you how to separate negative thinking from yourself . They really calm down my entire mind and body and my symptoms diminish or go away. There are so many meditations to choose from including depression, sleeping well, confidence, pretty much whatever you want. use your buds for a better effect.

The worst thing you can do is sit around and think about your symptoms which will increase your anxiety and more symptoms. Stay active, don't take life too seriously, stay social, eat healthy drink plenty of fluids. You'll be fine once you learn how to manage your anxiety better.

nothing is worse than losing your health so treat yourself well and be good to yourself. This is not your fault.

it's great that you have this support here, because when I was in my 20s and got numerous symptoms at once I thought I was the only one in the world with this and didn't know where to turn. It was terrifying. But everything turned out OK once I learned it was all stress related. I wish you the best! You can do this. ❤️😁

Sorry for some of the typos. LOL

I get twitching in my lip too. But it's because I drink too much caffeine. Soda. My eyes are sensitive to the sun too or light too. Just going oustide hurts my eyes so I wear sunglasses my problem is I got used to the darkness of my room. So when I do go outside it hurts my eyes.. It's normal I guess for me. I don't know what it is... You're 25 just like me. I doubt that could happen to you at your age. I don't really know though. Hope it's nothing. Good Luck

I have an appointment with the neurologist this week.

I'm pretty sure when I was in the hospital they checked like everything they could with my blood. They even looked to see if they could see "muscle tissue breakdown" whatever that means.  That came back fine. They all chalked it up to anxiety. As does my primary doctor. I'm about ready to go to the nuthouse if I get any worse.

This made me feel a lot better. I've had a hard time finding someone who has had twitching problems like I do. Most people have everything but twitching. And it seems to be the only symptom that actually scares me, so my anxiety keeps going because it won't subside.

Thanks for the response. I to love caffeine. Although with this twitching I'm gunna cut it off until it goes away.
