hi, I know how scary that can be. But I hope my answer eases your mind. When I was in my 20s I had all the same symptoms you have. Plus more. The muscle twitching is very common with anxiety and stress. Many athletes get that because of how they use their muscles. With ALS, You don't get that until later stages. Muscle twitching is common for many other reasons.
I had muscle twitching in my arms, legs, but ox, even my eyelid, are you name it. The reason we get the symptoms is because when we are in process, or brain is very over anxious because that's where it begins. All this energy the brain has mustard up actually comes out as the symptoms we experience. The energy has to go somewhere. Usually we get neurological symptoms so people think they have some terrible disease when it's actually all stress related.
my eyes were also sensitive to bright light and I used to get sweaty palms in upper lip which is also due to anxiety.
I am now in my 50s and I am still here! LOL you see, any symptoms related to anxiety cannot hurt you. They feel scary and uncomfortable but that's all they can do.
The key to this whole thing is relaxing your mind. When you do this the brain stop sending out adrenaline which can cause the sweaty palms etc. and your symptoms diminish. When you get all worked up over symptoms, your brain will send out more adrenaline and then there you go again with symptoms. It's a vicious circle.
what has helped me is first of all I went and spoke with the counselor who helped me figure out why am so anxious in the first place. It really helps to vent to someone else who can help. Next, I listen to meditations on YouTube for anxiety a couple times a day. Many of these teach you how to separate negative thinking from yourself . They really calm down my entire mind and body and my symptoms diminish or go away. There are so many meditations to choose from including depression, sleeping well, confidence, pretty much whatever you want. use your buds for a better effect.
The worst thing you can do is sit around and think about your symptoms which will increase your anxiety and more symptoms. Stay active, don't take life too seriously, stay social, eat healthy drink plenty of fluids. You'll be fine once you learn how to manage your anxiety better.
nothing is worse than losing your health so treat yourself well and be good to yourself. This is not your fault.
it's great that you have this support here, because when I was in my 20s and got numerous symptoms at once I thought I was the only one in the world with this and didn't know where to turn. It was terrifying. But everything turned out OK once I learned it was all stress related. I wish you the best! You can do this. ❤️😁
