I feel awful writting on here again as I thought I was getting better or should I say coping better. Last week I had a real bad week, went to see my CBT therapist yesterday and felt a bit better but this morning I got a text from my dentist saying I have an appointment on Friday and it has sent me into a spiral as I am realy worried about my mouth, I grind my teeth alot to the point of breaking them and I am scared to death she is going to say there is something wrong although when I look on the internet it seems to be a common enough thing to do. I have cancelled my appointment as I am to scared please can someone help.
Your going to have your ups and downs friend. You'll have good days and bad days, even weeks. I thought I was recovering myself and this last week has felt like hell all over again for me. Just stay strong. I wouldn't cancel your dentist appointment because your teeth are important , as important as everything else in your life, you only get one set. Hope this makes you feel a bit better!
Hi Jean
sorry to hear your not coping as well as you would like. What is your fear about the dentist? What is it you think he/she might say. Grinding our teeth are perfectly normal when tense or anxious. Perhaps they might suggest a mouthguard.
I also have a medical appt. today that I am anxious about. Trying to think good thoughts but it is tough I know.
sending you healing thoughts.

Hi Lynda
I am so glad you took the time to reply to me, I am not sure why I am scared of the dentist, just worried I have a disease, but thanks for the reassurance.
I hope you get on okay with your appt, let me know how it goes.

Hi Daniel
Many thanks for your kind words, it is much better than someone saying pull yourself together. I have cancelled my appointment but have rebooked for next Friday, will have to pray that by then I will have the strength to go.
Keep fighting it
Hi Jean, I am glad you have re-booked your dentist appointment as there is nothing to be afraid of. Teeth grinding is a common issue with people. A lot of them grind their teeth in their sleep. Your dentist is their to help you keep your teeth in the best shape possible. Chin up as they say and I am sure you will be fine.
