I took the plunge

I'm fed up with my specialist so I canceled my appt. I was informed that I will not receive any medications until I rescheduled it. I went to my regular doctor and he said he would handle it! Yippee. Now I have someone i can talk to. We discussed my meds and all the problems I am having and set up a flare plan. He automatically prescribed me predisone and norco so when I have a flare, I have something. All I have to do is call him and let him know. I feel so much better now.

Well done to you. It is VITAL that a patient has confidence and trust in their doctor and it is just not acceptable that a doctor would seem to threaten you in the way you describe. Great that your now have a doc. you can talk to . . . . Kind regards, J

I had a similar experience. I was so frustrated with my rheumatologist and didn't feel like she listened to me. Specialists seem to live in a box of information and if you have any symptoms that do not fit in that box, they're reluctant to listen to you or take you seriously. I actually had my RA doc tell me that the symptom I was telling her about was not listed as one of the symptoms for Plaquenil. I now only go to my general physician and feel much better about my care and that someone is actually listening to me.

My specialist gives me prednisone every time I see him because inflammation keeps showing in lab work. I hate taking it because it keeps me from sleeping. I'm just ready for relief!!
