I ve been circumcised at 41.today

Hi guys

I ve been given blue gauze pads and sent home. Been prescribed some sleeping meds and will take paracetamol plus Ibuprofen

I ve been told to keep dressing on for 48 hours then soak it off.

Do i have to put some Vaseline on the wound after this? And is it better to let air at the wound or dress it.

Hey toulon01...how are things going with your post-surgery? I would continue to dress it until swelling goes down and it feels "normal". I don't know about the vaseline, though.

They should have given you instructions, but if you can't find them, or have forgotten them, they give them a call.  My guess would be vaseline though.  Hope you have a good recovery, and are happy with the decision to go ahead.

(then give them a call)

Hi

I think I was a bit too drowsy to listen properly to the nurse.

The procedure was tougher than I imagined, and found the injection of local

Anaesthetic to be sore plus some of the pulling was uncomfortable. I became very hot/ clammy and was

Put on oxygen.

I can soak the dressing off after 48 hours, so think the gauze dressings are there as a back up but. I will check.

I 've been prescribed Zoplicone to sleep...Will this suppress erections?

I just did a quick google, and I don't think Zoplicone suppresses erections, though it has other side effects.  Haven't they prescribed anything else to stop you getting erections, or given you stuff in writing saying what the drugs are for, and what to expect during your recovery?

Hi

Just been prescribed Paracetamol plus Ibuprofen ( one daily) plus Zoplicone

And Losec? ( to counterbalance any acid build up)

Feel a bit abandoned to be honest... but am told paracetamol should help pain.

It's the erections that frighten me to be honest and their impact on stitches.

I had full circumcision with adrenalin removed almond with three glandular adhesions

There seem to be a wide range of views about how painful adult circumcision is.  Some men think it's no big deal.  You should go back to your urologist if you have questions or need more pain relief though.
