I have tried antibiotics. The antibiotics would work. I would be BV free for at a year but now I can't seem to get rid of it. I too have changed my diet. I am a vegetarian. I've been a vegetarian for over 6 years but now I'm doing the Daniels Fast. Today will be my 10th day. I juice every morning. I'm not eating any dairy or sugar and I too did take antibiotics but it came back the following week. The order seems to get WORSE!!! It's so depressing. I also feel like it flares up after sex and after my menstrual. I'm 41 and I'm tired. I recently started taking B12, Spirilina and Folic Acid. I also take a hair skin and nail vitamin. I also purchased food grade perioxcide and diluted with water. I was taking it orally it would work for a couple of days but of course the SMELL would return. Then I decided to stop taking it orally and wipe with it. Yes it helped but it didn't cure it. I need HELP!!! Please.
Hi Stacey, well done with the diet - I know it's not easy - but I can tell you've had enough. I know exactly what you are going through - I tired everything as I too was suffering with it for years. I had it every day and it became chronically bad. You'll find that your good bacteria is most probably low and it is made worse every time you take more antibiotics. Have you tried taking probiotics? I know they are expensive but the one that worked for me was Symprove. I bought a 3 month supply and the smell was gone within the 3 months. There are no quick fixes to this unfortunately but something definitely can be done about it as I am living proof.
Hi Stacey I too was getting Bv for the past few months but I started drinking green tea with raw honey and it went. I stopped drinking green tea and it came back so I started to drink it again and within 2 days it disappeared and hasn't come back since. I buy green tea leaves soak then in boiling water for about 3 minutes then let it cool a bit or add a bit of cold water to cool.it then I add raw honey. The goodness of honey can be destroyed it boiling water. Also it must be raw honey the cheap store bought stuff is not the same and I did read that they tested some store bought honey and found it wasn't even real honey.
Anyway I advise you to try it and God willing it works for you as it has me.
Take care
Maryam

Just to add.
I put a heaped teaspoon of honey in each drink and drink about 3 or 4 cups a day.

Hi, I feel your pain. It does suck badly dealing with the BV. I have only had it for the past 6 months and it comes back like every other month. I would highly recommend that you try the Vitamin D3 supplement with a probiotic, and folic acid. On the doctor OZ show he recommended taking vitamin D3 2000 IU for 3 months...everyday without missing a day and that should help with getting rid of bv. I read somewhere the a woman was taking 5,000 IU of vitamin D daily and it helped her to get rid of it pretty quickly. My OBGYN told me when I went to go and visit her a coupld of weeks again that I should use the Baby soap by Johnson and Johnson to wash with because it has just the right amount of PH in it that women need for good Vaginal health. I am currently taking Multi-Vitamin for her, Two FemDophilus Probiotic tablets (One in the morning, and 1 at night), Vitamin C tablet, and Folic Acid 500 mg daily....so far it seems to be working....but I dont want to put a foot in my mouth...I highly believe that taking all of these will be my cure...I have read that the probiotics are only really successful at working completely if you take Folic Acid 500 mg so that's what I am doing...and hoping for the best! Doctor OZ usually gives really good advice that works so I am very confident that the vitamin D3 will work as well. I have not cut out anything in my diet because I dont think it is necessary. I was able to eat and drink whatever I wanted before and I wont let bv stop me from enjoying coffee or soda or anything else because I dont think that is the problem. Anyhow, I hope I helped. Im definitely going to update on how this is working for me in a few months.
Hi nedra try the green tea and honey I mentioned in this discussion it works a treat and you don't need to take tablets or change your diet and grew tea and raw honey have other excellent benefits.
Take care
The sugars feed the bacteria. Diet is very important with bv. you could feel fine and have a piece of candy or a processed meal and start to have symptoms immediately. folic acid won't cure bv but it will help with syptoms. That's why diet full of greens is so good because it works the same. You can eat spinach every day and not have to take folic acid. When I started this forum I too tried folic acid and vitamin d due to dr Oz. It didn't cure me, only relieved symptoms and it kept coming back. I hope it helps you. The problem is an imbalance of good and bad bacteria in your body so taking a high vaginal probiotic is only thing to really cure you along with diet. key to starve the bacteria and overcrowd it with good bacteria, drink a lot of water to rid it out of system. good luck to you and those reading!
Try making boric acid suppositories. Google it you will notice a difference the next day.
Good answer Kris - totally agree!
Mary, where do I buy the green tea leaves and how many do you use each time you boil them? How long is the tea good for; do you refrigerate it if you have leftovers? One more question...how much water do you add when you boil the leaves? Lol sorry or all of the questions, but I'm willing to try the green tea method out...! Thanks!
I know what you're saying but everyone is different. I read someone elses's post recently and they didnt change their diet at all and still got rid of the bv...I don't remember what remedy it was that they used though. Also unlike some people who might still get it immediately after taking antibiotics or after having sex or something, I can go a month without having it...but maybe it is because it takes longer for the bacteria from the bv to build back up again..i dont know.
Well that's kind of what im trying to explain. It wouldn't come back if you dieted. if you can manage getting rid of it then it's important to keep it away so it doesn't continue. if someone is on antibiotics diet may not be that important opposed to someone doing it all natural. Everyone is different but bacteria will always be bacteria and what feeds it won't change. I would also be careful when reading people's remedies, look at their time frame in when they got rid of it and how long they have been free of it. It's easy to get rid of it one month and have it come back before or after their period. Or rid of it one week and be symptom free to only have it again within the next few days lol. It's a very tricky infection but once it's understood it's easy to get rid of it. I hope you get rid of it I know how much it sucks.
Yea I know it sucks heavily, I've had this crap for 6 months, and I probably should be drinking more water and eating more greens....I have always had a problem with eating veggies. I guess I'm more of a meats and starch person lol, but I'm probably going to try adding spinach to my diet. Thanks for the advice
Hi Nedra I get them from the local Asian supermarkets. I use 1 table spoon of green leaves in a jug of boiling water from the kettle. I leave for about 4 minutes stir then pour into a mug through a sieve to stop leaves going into the cup . I usually use a normal tea mug. I then let cool and add a heaped teaspoon or a tablespoon of raw honey. I drink this rather than tea and coffee now and if you read up on it it kills bacteria and is good for many many other things too. Hope this helps.
Let me know how you get on x
Mary thanks so much! I acually JUST now got back from the grocery store. I could not find the green tea leaves at the store that I went too, but I did find raw honey and I found some organic tea in the health section. I will drink that for now and use it up since I alreay bought it, but when I am out I will go to the Asian supermarket in my area of town to find them. Thanks a lot for your advice...I'll let you know how it works for me ;-) Oh yea, and did you change youre diet by the way? Or do you already eat healthy or what? Thanks :-)
Hi Nedra. Hope you are well. The Green tea and organic tea are different but give it a go with the organic and in 2 days if not gone then get the green tea. Mine are in a tub called asal green tea but you can get any. They do sell loose green tea on ebay but it's cheaper from the Asian supermarkets. I think they may have green tea t-bags in asda and morrisons aswell but I did read the tea bags used in tea are bleached and have toxins so that's why I bought the leaves. Yes I have changed my diet but the green tea should work without a diet change. I just changed my diet mainly because I realise with a few problems I'm having ie skin problems and digestion as well I realised I must make my food my medicine otherwise I end up having to take medicine so did my research and now eating lots more fruit and veg. I'm jot perfect though I still a have sweet things I've just reduced it.
Anyway like I said the green tea God willing should cure you without any other changes but good to eat healthy to prevent health issues arising later in life.
Hope this helps.
P's if this is of use I did read about dairy containing hormones and the pasteurisation process damages the good bacteria in dairy ie milk cheese etc so it is causing people a lot of problems so I've cut it out for few days now and my skin seems to be clearing and digestion problems getting better. The Dr Who recommended cutting out dairy said do it for 6 weeks and see what change it brings.
Ok take care for now xx
Yea you are right, I actually just googled the organic tea yesterday and realized it was different *sigh* I'll be running some errands today and on my way back home I'll try to pick up some of the leaves from the Asian Supermarket in town. Thanks! I will let you know how it goes. Also I dont each very much dairy at all or drink milk much so that shouldn't be a problem lol. I usually only add milk to certain foods that I eat.
I take somethin called rephresh pro b u can get it at Walgreens luckeys places like that it dont get rid of it but forces out the bad stuff
Hi Alicia try the green tea and honey I mentioned on here it gets rid of it x
