I've been diagnosed pleural effusion, can I still take chocolates?
Sorry don't get what you mean? x
Nobody ever told us that my ex should avoid chocolates with this. He continued to eat some chocolate every day til his death 12 yrs later, which wasn't due to pleural effusion/ congestive heart failure or CHF.
BUT: this is a question for your specialist or consultant or their nurse. Your case might differ somehow.
Good luck. Ain't no DX comin' 'tween me and mah choklit (yes, that's my accent)
A question for your own doctors I think michaelle2.
I mean, can I still eat chocolates when having a pleural effusion?
so what's the cause of his death?
I can't even reach my doctor right now.. that's why Im asking everyone!
Hardening of the arteries/ atherosclerosis, the one thing for which no doc ever examined him. He had a stent, pacemaker/ defibrillator, and oxy 24/7 set at 6, and had had at least 15 cardioversions. He slept most of the last several years. It was past time in his eyes & mine.
Did you Google it?
yes but I can't find any suggestions about dos and don'ts about thise disease..
that was worst
Have you looked for a forum on your disease? At least in the States it is quite common so I can't imagine that Patient doesn't have a forum. If it's not under pleural effusion, try congestive heart failure. People who have it may know more than we do.
It's sadly how medicine prolongs our lives beyond reason. He barely left the house in the last 2 years and gave up going out for doc visits a long time ago-- no point & not enough oxygen tanks liftable by us to get him there & back safely.
I would wait till you can, people here don't know your medical history nor medically trained so cannot advise you personally.
Generally you should be guided what the medical professionals advise for you personally with such a query where diet can impact of health and medications.
