I am through a bad anxiety period, my worst so far and I have always been a hypochondric person and now I am thinking about the worst. Hence the corona virus there are no clinics open for "regular" patients apart from those who suffer from the virus, so I cannot go and see a doctor now. My gp knows about my problem and we started to look for an answer back in february, but nothing has changed since then. I am quite worried right now that it might be something life threatening like cancer.. :/ What do you think?
mucus in stool can be very common. Most people get it at some point. Are you having any other symptoms like abdominal pain? You can always consult a doctor online during this time. They have virtual appointments.
sometimes hemorrhoids can cause you to have blood in the stool. That is nothing serious. The other question is is the blood bright red or is it dark red?
It was bright red for sure. I had a little cramping but nothing else.
is this a diarrhea
Yes, this virus is scary and making us all worried. We anxiety sufferers have it especially rough as we are prone to nervousness at anytime, never mind during a crisis. Our anxieties go through the roof. I know about the clinics not being open and i am able to teleconference or call my doctor and he will get back to me. I doubt its cancer, we always tend to think the worse case scenerio in times like this. Just be careful, your anxiety can play tricks with your mind making ghost symptoms and make you think theres something wrong when there isnt anything there. But you contacted your GP and you said he is looking for answers already, so that is the best thing possible for you. Try not to think the worse, try the other end of the spectrum, try thinking its something simple that can be treated quite easily. And keep your mind off of it until your doctor comes up with something concrete to tell you. I often have mucus in my stool too but i have sinus and allergy problems, and constant mucus in my chest and lungs. I use a decongestant and it ends up in my stool. No sense worrying because whatever the problem is, its out of your control and only the doctor can fix it anyway so why worry? But you are not alone and you can always come to this forum for support.
