I have GAD and have struggled with anxiety and medication for years. I was put on Venlafaxine 75mg 8 weeks. I seem to have some good days but lately the anxiety is much worse. Everyday I feel as though I have the worst hangover, aches and pains all over and chest pains.
As no other ssris have worked I am desperate for this to. Should it have worked by now? Do I need an increase or to be more patient.
Thank you for listening xx

Hi Jennifer thank you for your reply. I do hope you find some relief soon.
I have finished with the psychiatrist and am now under the gp so will make an appointment to see her. I just want to feel well again. I seriously cannot remember the last time I was anxiety free!
I have posted in the other sections too x
I think venlafaxine helps anxiety in larger dose. I take 225mg of venlafaxine and it's done the trick for me, I still get anxiety but it's more manageable. It did take a while to help though around 4 months for me. I also take mirtazapine 45mg and olanzapine 7.5mg I was also on diazapam but recently come offrom this and take propranolol to help now. Itso all about the right balance in Meds. I wish I didn't take so many but without them I don't know where I'd be. I hope you find peace soon.
Hi leeanne sorry I think you replied on my other thread. I am new and don't really understand how this site works as I don't always get notifications. I am going to speak to my gp about upping as I think 75mg is too low. I am so glad you are feeling better.
