I’ve been suffering since February with pain in my R hip 10 months after hip replacement

Back in February I was making my bed and felt something happen in my hip.  Not Pain(yet) but a weird censation in the joint.  No grinding or popping.  I’ve written about this before and am now updating. Went shopping later after laying low for the rest of the day.  But the next morning I was I. Dyer Pain when I got up out of bed.  Couldn’t put any weight on it.  Agonizing pain at night.  Went through pt now I’m having surgery.  My surgeon says the muscle or tendon didn’t heal and fasten to the bone.  So now I’m having surgery next week.  He is only going by my symptoms didn’t do an mri.

Just not sure what to make of it.

Anyone have this same problem ?

Hi l had my left hip done 7 weeks ago, and l do things I shouldnt then pay for it, but i wanted to tell you about a friend of mine, it was 5 month after his hip replacement and he decided to try his motor bike out he was in so much pain he went to a &e they got pain under control but he had knocked his hip out of place, he was sorted day after and as just had is other hip done same same as me .So it asnt put him off his first hip was 11 months ago and he is doing great, hope you go on ok its scarey isnt it? thought you would have had an x ray at least, sorry not much help but just wanted to mention my friend that all ended ok

Hi Lind

I forgot to say that he did do X-rays and blood work to make sure joint was ok. And to rule out infection. Both are real good. I just thought he would have done an  mri first

Lori

Yes you would think so , but consultants all have their own ways,

Lori-

Where are you located and why did the surgeon not do an MRI to look at the tissue damage?

Hi Lori, I remember your story and you also had a trip planned to Florida. Seemed like things were better for awhile. Then the pain returned again.

Do you know what surgery are you having? I hope it’s not revision but on muscle attachment. Not all issues show up on MRI. There are a couple of muscles that are involved, do you know which area? Just wondering if it’s the usual suspects, paoas, IT band... ?

Wishing you well on your next surgery and many blessing to a complete recovery!

Keep posting on your recovery!🤞
