I've had knee pain for 2 months

I got my first cortisone shot this morning at 9 a.m. December 15th 2015 can someone please tell me what to expect for the next couple of days

Did the person who suggested you have the injections not explain to you what to expect?..

The property of cortisone is to create a barrier, a bit like a bubble between your joints.  It acts like a buffer.  It make take a few days to a week to take effect.  At the beginning you may feel in more pain than before the injection, but that will ease.   It can last between a month and 6 months, if you are lucky a little longer.  For more precise information you really need to speak with your doctor/consultant.  It would/could be the start of a series that you may need or a stop gap.  Good luck

hope that is of help

If that doesn't work, or only works for a short period of time, you may be offered synovial fluid. This is the man made version of the fluid that is in your knee.  Not sure how easy it is to have this done as it is sooooo expensive.  Again it will only really work for about 6 months.

hi mrgood well usualy the first one is by far the best ,what i mean by that it will last the longest hopefully a year or more sometimes less .the more you get after that you could expect them to last less time each time you get one .  what to expect in the next few days ?? i would say within the week you should get great relief from the pain ,im trying to remember back to my first one i do know it was fantastic it made my knee feel very good in a few days so just give it time doctors will tell you it could be anytime from the injection to a week to kick in so dont worry you should feel much better for christmas
