I've had this for years. What do I do?

Long story short, several years ago I washed my vulva with body wash. I honestly didn't know any better. I had never been told about feminine health or feminine hygiene, and I made this mistake. After doing it a few times, I felt burning down there, mostly on my clitoris. I also suddenly had white, cottage cheese discharge. When I told my Mom, we never even went to the doctor. She assumed we could just get something over the counter. She spoke to the pharmacist, and all the pharmacist recommended was for me to use vagisil wipes to freshen up. Those did nothing, but it was never discussed again. My vulvar itching and soreness subsided over a few years, and I sparingly had discharge every now and then. I just went on like normal. But one day I decided to get tested at the doctor. I tested positive for BV. I went through antibiotics and got rid of my BV. The BV hasn't returned (I've been tested recently), but I still have vulvar issues (itching, burning, extremely sore clitoris), and now I itch on the inside of my vagina a lot (which rarely happened before, now it happens everyday). Also, I occasionally have clumpy white or yellow discharge whenever I don't take my vaginal probiotic. It's just the strangest thing ever. The outside of my vagina itches, has constant irritation, and my clitoris literally stings when you touch it (at times it itches even when not touched, but not too often). Also, I have a problem with odor. Even when I've found temporary fixes with certain remedies, the odor of my vulva still remained. It just will not go away. And the odor from my vaginal discharge (clear or white & milky, it's only clumpy when I don't take my probiotic) smells as well. In addition to all of this, my vulvar skin is whack. Whenever I wipe my vulva, brown stuff comes off of it, like it's dirty. And no, it's not just dust or fabrics from underwear, this didn't happen before I had vulvar issues. It's the weirdest thing. It's not part of my discharge, it's coming directly off of my vulvar skin. Its like when you wipe your face with facial wipes and you see the dirt on the wipe. Same type of thing, but on my vulva. Extremely strange. And again, it's not just fabrics or dirt or anything, I never had this issue before. It's a result of the issue I'm having. All because I used body wash down there a few times. My doctor suggested that it may be a skin infection on my vulva, and that I should see a dermatologist. And that could be the case, but why the odor? It's just all very strange. And I don't know what to do about the inside of my vagina. That's still an issue. The second I stop taking probiotics, I start having an issue. And even when I do take probiotics, though my discharge is healthy, it will still smell. I understand that vaginas aren't supposed to smell like cupcakes. But the odor isn't supposed to be foul. And before I had this issue, I never smelled down there. I didn't smell good down there, I just didn't smell like anything. There are some women I know that sweat a lot down there, so for different reasons they may smell a little bit down there. But I don't sweat down there or anything, and I never had any weird smelled on there until I had this issue. I'm sorry that I wrote a book, I just really wanted to nip this problem in the bud. I refuse to believe that vaginal infections, or any other can't be cured, and that you forever have to keep them at "bay". Much worse things than this have been cured before, so I know that there's a way. I just want to be normal again. I'm still young and I want to enjoy my life without this. I'm thinking that maybe when I used that soap on my vulva, that I washed away all of the good bacteria down there, and that's what's causing all of these issues. If anyone has had any similar symptoms, and you found relief, please don't hesitate to reply. I've done research and I haven't found anyone with the same vulvar issues that I have. I just want to be free again.

Hi, I sounds like you have vulvodynia related to chronic infection and skin trauma. I’ll send you a private message with links for resources.
