If i change doctors will I still be able to get my prescription (mirtazapine) will I need to see a doctor again?
Your medical records are your property. You can take them, physically or soft copy. The new doctor will review this and make a decision. If one doctor has prescribed you a medication based on a diagnosis, I don't see why a new one would change that. They might suggest new approaches though.
You also cannot stop taking that type of medication suddenly. That means that at the very least you would have to be prescribed it for as long as you need to taper off it, if that is what you wish.
In short, yes, you should be able to continue as normal if that's your wish.
I presume you need to fill your prescription at least monthly? So make sure you leave time to get the new one sorted.

When you register at your new Surgery you will be given a getting to know you appointment where they will check you over, do not worry, no-one fails and they will discuss your health and medication, they will honour any treatments you still need.
Many Surgeries can access your records via there Internet connection so they can actually see what your old Practice has been doing with you

Thanks for your reply. I went in to the new doctors to get the forms which states that I will need to have an appointment to review any medication that I am on. Hopefully they won't take me off it.
