In general, the genetics in my family kinda call for crappy teeth in general which sucks. I had a root canal when I was 16 and got a crown put in. It’s the third tooth from my right front tooth, so pretty noticeable sadly.
It was fine for years, but I lost insurance and at 22 my abusive ex knocked it out. He purposefully “lost” my crown so I couldn’t ever get it put back in anyway.
Now there’s just nothing there and it’s my biggest insecurity ever and keeps me from even socializing. It’s not too noticeable when I smile, but when I laugh or someone is on my right side… It’s hard to miss.
I can’t afford to get an implant because one dentist told me I need a bridge and everything, and it could cost me 6k. I’m pregnant and taking care of my dad and lost my job due to the virus, and that’s completely out of the question. Maybe in the future.
In my research, I discovered dental flippers kinda as an alternative to an implant. So for me, it’d just be until I can afford the permanent solution.
But, I’ve got a few questions before I get my hopes up and the dentists aren’t open rn except for emergencies so I figured maybe reddit could help me for now.
How exactly can they make the flipper stay in your mouth? In my ex knocking that one out, he cracked a tooth two over from the crown. So would I need extra work done to be able to have a flipper?
And for one tooth, how much approximately would it cost? Im hoping to get my stimulus money which is 1,200 and hope I can use some or all of it for this if that’s even possible.
Im desperate to get this fixed because I’ve delt with the insecurities for so many years and trying to hide it is exhausting. I’ve tried Temp Tooth but it never worked out and I’d like something a lil more reliable but im just not totally sure if it’s possible.
If anyone could help me out, I’d greatly appreciate it ![]()
