I was admitted to hospital on Tuesday as had been in agony since Sunday eve. Had ct scan and was told acute infection of diverticulitis. Was on IV anti biotics from 1am Wednesday morning just till Thursday morning and sent home with co-amoxiclav anti biotics for seven days. Pain still so bad 😞 Unable to function. Got to habe urgent camera in 2 weeks as have blockage. But can't cope with pain
You need to go to emergency room if you are in that much pain. Don’t full around this can be serious.
I really feel for you and understand the pain you are in. I am still getting over inflammation I had last week. I can't understand why you were discharged so soon and with a blockage too. I was admitted to hospital in August with acute diverticulitis. I went in on a Sunday afternoon and was on iv fluids and iv co-amoxiclav for 5 days with 2 days of oral co-amoxiclav on discharge. I was on oral co-amoxiclav again last week for 7 days, it took about 3 days to start to work, which seems like forever when you are in pain. Drinking plenty of water also helped plus using a heat pad. I think if I was you I would go straight to A & E. I really hope the pain eases soon for you, but I seriously can't understand why the hospital discharged you with a blockage. My thoughts are with you.
Please seek urgent medical advice as a blockage can be serious. Going through a flare up myself atm and finished co amoxiclav this morning but still in pain and bowel movements still very loose so feel your pain but don't mess around get help. Get well soon
