I am back from the hospital. Had a chat with my surgeon and he sent me straight to X ray. I knew something was really wrong two weeks ago and in A & E just would not listen. Well the x ray came bacvk and I was right there is something major wrong.
My left hip is fine and nothing wrong with it. My right hip however has now collapsed and my surgeon is going to get me back in A.S.A.P. to have it done. Nothing else but potter about the house and bed rest. All meds stopped except my pain killers and boy do I need them. I could feel somethihng was just not right with my hip and You just know yourself if something isn't right. So I will be going in as soon as my surgeon can get me in.
Thank you Gilcat. I have to say I am glad this has happened to be honest even if it is so painful. It has forced my surgeon to act sooner rather than wait till september. This means I should still be able to enjoy summer and not be in a ward in the hot summer temps with a bit of luck.
Thank you Anne. I hope I don't have to wait long either. I might give my surgepons secretary a call tomorrpw and find out his work load so I can at least work out an approx date. I don't think it will be this week. but I have been suprised before.
Hi Westie yeah I am glad he x rayed me. But the signs he saw on my knee and my shin told him what might be the problem so he x rayed me to make sure. I have a bruse around my knee that looks like a target without the bullseye. I also have tiger stripe brusing down both shins and the swelling was pretty bad also the pain without pain killers is practiucally unbearabl;e.
ho w awfull for you, but you were right only you really know your own body, hope it all goes well, if it was me I would write an extremely serious letter of complaint to the hospital trust about the sheer neglegence of their A&E dept.
Thanks. I might wait to see if there is anything else to add first. I want to get this op out the way and I hope it is soon. I am now in so much pain I can't even sleep because the jopint feels very strange and I dare not move incase I make things worse.

I will be more relieved once I am sorted I think. Until the pain killers kiock in moving makes me cry it is so bad.. I can only say that the pain is as bad as hitting a finger with a hammer. I had stopped taking oramorph and just taking co codamol as an when I needed it. I am now back to where I was before the first hip was done and it is really demoralising. At least I will have an idea of when I can be done once I have spoken to my consultants secretary. I know it won't be this week because I have been told it takes a week for the asprin to get out of my body so I have been told.
Hi Hailea ... let us know okay ... I hope the pain meds will do its job soon - hang in there - keep taking deep breaths and try to relax ... I know, annoying, but it does help .... big and warm hug ....
Yes I will let you know. Thanks renee. The co codamol is now kicking in. I am trying to stay posative but it is hard when you have gone through so much already in 3 years. I have a nice warm sunny day here ( very rare in Wales   so may go sit out in the sun later
