I would like to pass some info on to you and get your thoughts on it. on Dec 23 2003 I had a colonoscopy, and in Jan 2004 all hell broke loose in my stomach. now I had never had any problems with my stomach, I always had good bowels movements, regular. now I am convinced that there was some damage done.
I have had two cat scans, a ultra sound blood work and a upper GI {ran a scope down to my stomach} nothing the Dr prescribed did any good so I stopped taking any medication, nor do I see the Dr. it is strange to me that all this started after I had the colonoscopy. the Dr did remove a polyp down about where my appendix were before it was removed back in 1990. so if it is not too much of a problem I would like your opinion on this
Thanks

I have read that you can be more prone to IBS if you have/had a polyp, so this could be an answer. Although I agree it seems strange that this only started after the colonoscopy, and I would instead return to the Dr and ask for further help, perhaps with relaxation techniques. I find that the body is very tempremental, and stress can produce the strangest diseases and suffering.
Hope you start feeling better.

Bill,
The same thing happened to me....I had my first colonoscopy December 2003 also. Two polyps were removed. In January I began having problems with my stomach. There were severe...my stomach became distented....I went through test after test after test. Tried all types of medicine......nothing helped by prescribtion PAIN medicine which I really didn't want to take....but I couldn't eat, sleep or do much of anything. After about three years I began to feel better. I still have the distended stomach....which drastically changes my clothes size among other things. I really hope someone can fine a way to resolve the distended stomach issue. It really is depressing.
