i

Hi I have been asked to do a bike ride coast to coast Has anyone done a challenging bike ride with lichen sclerosus I dont want to do more lasting damage would be very grateful for any advice thanks

Hi Lisa,
Coast to Coast bike ride - that’s a huge undertaking so presumably you are cycling at the moment in preparation and are comfortable and have a good saddle ?
I miss my cycling - when i last saw my dermatologist i asked if i could start again her reply was " not yet but its definitely a goal to have " my LS is under control and she could see no evidence of it that day but its the nerve sensitivity (Vulvodynia) thats been triggered by the LS that I’m slowly getting under control - there would be a lot of pressure on that area for 3 days continuously ( husband did 60 miles a day 3 days Coast to Coast - it was tough) .
So - good luck if you go ahead it gives me hope that cycling may be back on the cards its such a good stress relief but maybe seek medical advice re triggering Vulvodynia.

Hi thank you for your reply
I also did cycling before but I am a bit scared to now because I also have my LS
under control. I have booked a appointment at the doctors to see what they say
but it is something I would like to do
when the weather is better I will try my bike I do have a bike with a slit in it which makes it easier
but I am worried I start to ride and it’s flares up
will let you know
I think my LS started when I started the menopause and wasn’t examined for over a year by the doctor

Hi Lisa,
Just wondering how your Dr’s appointment went and what their advice on cycling was ?
Like you my LS erupted at Menopause - so its Dermovate 3 times a week and Ovestin( estrogen cream ) 3 times a week - Sunday is the night off - I love that day !
Hope you’re doing ok.
