Hello some of you may have read my posts re recent colonoscopy. I have had IBS for around 7 years and have just been diagnosed with divericular and internal hemmeroids.
Is there anyone on the forum that suffer with both IBS and diverticular? If so would love to hear from you about how you cope diet etc. The symptoms seem to be very similar. Thanks.

I suffered same in my twenties, many moons ago I changed my diet and now eat a lot of fruit and vegetables, cut down on Wheat and generally take Porrage in the mornings. In the summer I do have bran for breakfast and now find I am ok.
Personally I do not know if my diet has made any difference as I am now in my sixties. The Diverticularcolitus and Hemeroides seem to run together. As does IBS.
You need to follow your GP advise, hopefully you will get rid of your piles and IBS.
the other part of the problem thin walls on the Divertalum can still be a problem to sort.

My mum has diverticular disease and IBS. The diet advice is very similar but be sure to avoid seeds and nuts and anything with pips as they can get stuck in the diverticuli and cause diverticulitis.
