I have recently been (sort of) diagnosed with IBS. I have had some blood tests which results should come back tomorrow just to check! I have had symptoms of ibs ( such as abdominal cramps, bloating and constipation) for around a year or more but now seem to be getting worse as approaching exams! I was just wondering if anyone else has this and how they cope with it?! Thank you!!
I have had IBS for about 20 months, and it comes and goes. It can flare up quite badly for seemingly no reason, and then subside. I have taken various medicines to try and control the cramps, bloating and constipation. The only medicines that seem to work in my case are, BUSCOPAN 2 tabs 4 times daily, for the cramps and bloating, and SENNA tablets for the constipation. In my case this is the remedy that seems to work for me, All can be bought over the counter. Hope this helps for you.
Hey, I've had stomach pains for a couple of years and I tried all sorts and nowt worked, I've started to brew homemade milk kefir which holds great promise I spoke with a woman who said it cured her chrohns!! Have a look online it makes intresting reading.
IBS is usually made worse by stress. Controlling stress can be difficult, as exams by their very nature are stressful.
My exam stress was so bad it destroyed my eyesight - I have been wearing specs for the past 30 years since that day. Around the same time I also got IBS.
There can also be "trigger foods" which affect IBS, that need to be avoided.
I have found peppermint tablets have helped a lot with my IBS - taken prior to cramping.
Good luck
