I know everyones IBS is worse but im wondering if anyone suffers from the same symptoms as i do.
What will happen is i get bloated, feel the chills and weak/heavy arms then get super tired and need to rest. If i dont treat the bloating, i will eventually feel nausea. The next day is pretty rough, but i can eat and function to a certain extent. By dinner tim 95% of the time im back to normal.
The way i treat the bloating is by taking lactulose (mixed with gatorade) with a sip of water and that causes my insides to gurgle and pass a lot of gas. 95% of the time it helps, i go to bed and my day starts.
An IBS attack is usually brought on by over eating. My tolerance level is about the size of a subway 6" sub. If i eat too soon after or too much at once, i get the symptoms. It also seems that if i take my vit d with dinner im usually ok. Papaya pills also help if taken about 30 min after dinner.
If i eat any of my nono foods then it comes on much faster and i actually get sick and dry heave/throw up (rarely food)
I get mild stomach pain and constipation. I have had loose motions with back pain. If I have a flare up, the pain is agony, I feel sick and feel exhausted after the attack. Buscopan and pain killers work. Stress brings on attacks but food doesn't bother me,
I don't get bloating or chills.
First 2 paragraphs are very familiar if you look back at my earlier posts. At the start of Feb I noted my symptoms and measured them out over a 3 hour 20 min period including the tiredness afterwards and the following day.
Never heard of Gatorade. Sounds like something I would put in the engine of my car. If it is carbonated steer clear.
When you say chills do you also mean sweats as in you just start perspiring starting with your forehead.
no sweating, just chills. My attacks usually last about 1/2 -3/4 of a day before im back to normal.
I get these horrible sweats and not straining or anything like that as when I have an attack everything moves easily but at some point during the attack whether I am taking a break from illness to drink water then all of a sudden I will start sweating. I think I am the only one with this symptom.
For me it is usually dinner time the following day. The day is always the same. After an attack I have a monster migraine and take tablets and drink about 2 pints in quick succession. I will sit on the sofa or go back to bed often nodding off even if I have had a lot of sleep. At some point usually 3pm to 4pm I will eat my first food 2 slices of wholemeal toast dry. Later in the evening 8 ish I will eat a salad and then about 9pm start to feel a little more human.
PS Dinner time is 7 and beyond. I was not clear.
