Hi Im new to this forum , really the point of coming on is to talk to people inthe same situation as me , I get frequent attacks of first diaoreah then for several days after bloating and my stomach feels like ive been kicked in it , very tender. anyone out there have the same?
IBS affects people in lots of different ways...some worse than others some with diffrent symptoms completely....but yes what you discribed happens to me a lot also I flip from D to C over the course of a few days
i find it frightening I always worry its something worse despite regular checks by the docs , when i have a bad attack I am completely wiped out and just need to rest , its nice ( i dont mean its nice people have it) to realise I am not alone , because you do feel alone when no one you know has it , they think your odd
You are not alone, believe me. IBS is extemely unpleasant but over time you will be able to control and manage it. The Low Fodmap diet has worked wonders for me over the last 2 or 3 years - well worth giving it a try. By following this eating plan I discovered that mushrooms, garlic and onions are major triggers for my IBS. I've also learned that anything other than a small amount of gluten will have a bad effect. It is a bit of trial and error but worth it to get your life back.
You'll be surprised how many people do have IBS and are still able to lead a normal lifestyle, albeit with a few individual modifications.

Yes I had garlic mushrooms and I was ill for about a week , I felt like I had been kicked in the stomach not touched them since
I have IBS C but from last Saturday to Monday, I had IBS D and had to take Imodium to stop it. Now I'm having to restart my bowel again with fruit. Have you been to your doctor about your symptoms?
