Does anyone else find that their IBS symptoms get a lot worse in the winter months, I think my IBS is due to mainly stress and anxiety and not food. During the summer when the weather is nice and I can get out and about more my symptoms are not nearly as bad but the last couple of months I have been suffering very badly.
My IBS is also due to stress rather than food. Winter hasn't affected me at all but I suppose if you are doing less exercise and suffer from SAD syndrome, it could be an issue.
Ditto to what Pip said but also I am better when I am eating better and exercising. I have not been too well of late and at the same time I have not been walking since end of October as I was involved with some freak injury and meant I have not been out and I think is lethargy is detrimental to my stomach.
To be honest, I haven't noticed that at all. As mine is mostly caused by food reactions. Although stress is a factor too. Now, that is not to say that your question doesn't need investigating. Winter does effect people with certain conditions. As a diabeic, I've noticed that my blood sugars are slightly higher during the Winter than any other season. So my guess is that if Winter does effect some people with IBS, there is a huge chance that there are some hormal factors involved. Interesting question..................
