Ibs

Hi I am new to this,I have been having problems for over a year with swelling around chest and abdomen, reflux, light headed, tremors, weakness have had numerous tests for heart and neurological all come back negative.Recently been getting really loud gurgling stomach and some bowel changes so am now wondering if my symptoms could be IBS. I do have Rheumatoid Arthritis but I know these are not RA related.Could you let me know if anyone has these symptoms for IBS.

Thankyou

Hello Lorraine,  Yes bowel changes and loud gurgling stomach noises are symptoms of IBS.  What did the gp conclude your other symptoms were if all your tests were clear.  Reflux can also be part of IBS.  Read up on IBS main symptoms are constipation or diarreah sometimes alternating, pain or stomach cramps with onset of bowel changes and pain often relieved by opening bowels.  All this can make you anxious and stressed and stress is a trigger for many.  There are various ideas with regard to diet.  Some are helped by high fibre diet many are not.  Read all the other posts on here for help and ideas.  Don't give up and go back to GP and tell him/her what is going on.  Good luck and keep in touch.

Hi Lorraine, I have all the symptoms you have listed, i have been like it since I had my gall bladder removed about 10 years ago, I blame IBS for it, but have never had a diagnisis, my doctor is now checking me for coeliacs just to rule it out. I have found that Aloe vera capsules and L-glutomine helps relieve a lot of my symptoms. I have tried lots of different things but it is all trial and error as what suits one person may not suit another....good luck and hope you get sorted soon x

Light headed has nothing to do with IBS . tell UR doc all UR symptoms. There r a variety of tests . UR doc knows UR medical history. Tremors don't meet any of the medical concerns u mentioned. I could guess that the chest pain could be gallstones which mimic heart pain. Only UR doc can do blood tests and food tests for alergies and u could do a food journal. Try keeping a food journal its a great help to sort out types of foods u have reactions to.

GOOD LUCKbiggrin

Yes I think I would say that you may have IBS, have you talked to your doctor about it. Certain foods can up set your stomach as well as stress. Did they put you on any medication. You may have to have a ct scan or / ultrasound done.

Best of luck Alexander.

Eats lots of yogurt. Balance out the tummy bacteria. In two weeks IBS will only be a thought from the past.biggrin
