Not sure if I have ibs, my gp did tests and they
Were clear, she referred me to a gynocology consultant, I can not get an appointment till November . She gave me buscopan to help with discomfort , don't know what to do, I am not eating very much, so losing weight.
Any advice please
Junie
There are no tests for IBS. It is a mis-diagnosis.
What the GP should do is rule out known conditions such as ulcer, crohns, cealiac disease, infection, medications, allergy, tumours etc etc.
Blood tests can tell a lot and are the first proceedure. The consultant will do the prescribed test to rule out the above.
In the meantime, eat little and often. Avoid the food triggers, reduce sugar intake to the zero, avoid caffeine, replace lactose milk with coconut milk or soy.
Sleep lots, exercise moderately. Take probiotics, VSL#3, Kefir, Saurkraut.
GP tests arnt really enough Hun.
You need further tests. Gynae will prob do a pelvic scan. But u need to rule out other stuff too. Go back to GP and ask for a referral to a Gastro doc. Good luck.
Sorry I mean gastro not gynae,
I had blood tests they were normal , I just don't feel like eating as it is driving me nuts.
