Does anyone with IBS sometimes look like their stool is fuzzy? I have not been diagnosed with IBS because I am a chicken and have not done a colonoscopy...suffering with anxiety and fear of painful bowel movements makes a test like this terrifying...does anyone have suggestions on how to help heal the stomach naturally...also I am in therapy ..I do not eat dairy or sweets or drink caffeine....I am on mirtazapine...and clonazepam...my second question was do you think these harsh drugs could possibly cause IBS as well?
Hi.
I know just how terrifing hospitals and proceedures can be. Its okay to feel anxious about them. But just think whether the test would provide any relief for you. If it would, then do it. Its not as bad as it sounds although not pleasant. As for the medication, I cannot say as ive never been on any of them meds but some strong medications definatly have an effect on the digestive track so make a note of your symtoms alongside what time you took your meds and if theres a pattern it should be made clear by writing it down. Finally, try to relax when you go to the bathroom (i know its easier said then done) When im in alot of pain with bowel movments, I try to take a hot water bottle or warm beanbag in with me and place it on my lower stomach. For me this decreases the pain somewhat. try reading/having music playing maybe to try and take your focus off things... take your phone and play games if you have to. Anything that takes your mind off the issue and onto something else. Dont feel forced to rush either and dont strain. Give it ten mins or so. If nothing happens. Dont panic. Try again later. Additionally, i used to run a bath for afterwards to help the whole body relax. A shower will work too. because if youre body is tense after a bm it will stay tense and prevent you from going later.
I had a lower on down and empty your insides out wasn't fun. It came back negative. They first no to the upper one but then changed their mines. I passed. The medicine I was on back then worked so I just let it go. I had a kid and I couldn't take the medicine. No attacks after I had her.
I'm not saying not to do the test. If your still in major pain get it down. The worst part for was cleaning out the inside. You get major diahrea doing it.
Has for the meds your on I don't know. The test really didn't hurt. Upper one don't know.
I did start seeing a chiroprator for something else and I had less attacks, most doctors don't like them but I do and few of my friends go to them.
I had stomach issues as a kid. Got real sick in high school, but it took until college before I was told it was ibs and nervous stomach. Plus smell of foods get mine in.
I hope you find the answers you are looking for. For painful bowels you can take miralax or stool softners. I take miralax daily since I can't eat many veggies and fruits are not my friends.
I hope you feel better real soon. Always check with doctor before you take anything.
I don't know. What kind of drug is mirtazapine? I think clonazepam is a tranquilizer right? I would think that would calm things down. I hear you about the colonoscopy. I did it while in the hospital. I felt more comfortable with nurses around in case I got scared. Didn't want to prepare by myself. Fear of passing out from the cramps. This stomach stuff is just awful.
