Ideas for sauces/flavourings etc

Hi all I'm sure this has been done before but would anyone share their ideas for livening up meals? I saw that someone posted about homepride sauces, so I'm going to check those out, and I was wondering if I could use a single slice of salami, cut up fine and tossed in a pan with couscous to make it tastier - or would that be a really bad idea?

salami sounds nice - check the fat content and make sure you add it in your total for the day.

I use a lot of herbs and some spies, mustard is also good to liven things up.

I've discovered some packet sauces in the supermarket - next to the pasta, you put the packet in the microwave for 5 mins and pour over pasta, but you can also use them to liven other things up.

Thanks for the reply! I had a look at all the sauces etc for pasta and those stir-in ones from dolmio are really good, the fat is about right if I only use about a quarter/third of a pot on a serving of pasta.

I tried the salami trick with couscous, it was really gorgeous! I went over on calories yesterday but my fat intake was low.

Not used the dolmio ones. Sainsbury's do their own, they come in a packet a bit like a packet of cat food. There is a meatball one that is about 250 calories and about 2g fat.

Because of the way they are packed they could easily be microwaved at work.
