Iibs and nausea

is anyone on Fodmap diet to try to help this. Or has anyone used it in the past

The FODMAP diet helps with gas, bloating etc but it isn't for nausea. What are your main symptoms and when do you get them?

I think it is stress which drives sickness for me but Doc said still part of my IBS symptoms as my sickness usually follows an IBS attack although a few Thurs ago I was sick with no other symptoms in the office which is unusual. I then walked for an hour, cleared my head and within 30 mins of getting back I was sick again. I have had this discussion many times with health experts and although they say it is unusual but by no means am I alone. Also when I had my heart rate measured I have a very high natural heart rate, just under 160 so this could also be part of the issue. In short I am naturally anxious. One consultant said it is just part of my personality. My argument is this nonsense only started at 39 so I have not had it all my life but he said our bodies change over time so maybe I have just worn mine down with stress although the strange thing is I have no real reason to be stressed. Oh the irony.

I have been told to do it by my GI and a nutritionist. It's not easy to follow because you still need to determine which foods even within the fodmap diet are your individual triggers. But they say this is the best diet for people suffering from IBS to follow. Good luck

Mainly waking nausea, abates usually to let me eat a meal at night.   Since starting fodmap the ibs- d has lessened.  I dont have gas or bloating.  Had gallbladder out in the hope it would help but still symptoms, if not worse.  Being treated for anx/dep but cannot take the meds as rhey make my nausea worse.

Have you been given anything to reduce acid? Nausea in the morning is often due to this. You could try taking liquid antacid like gaviscon before bed to see if it helps. If not you need something like omeprazole, which is prescription.

So far so good. Yes its a fiddle but results slowly appearing. Well worth a try.
