When I pee it kinda feels like razor blades and a massive amount of pressure on my stomach and bladder. I'm not pregnant. What is wrong with me??
My pee is also a blood orange color.
HI Brayanna, sounds like a UTI/bladder infection, you'll need to see a doctor. If you can't get to one, in the meantime drink lots of water, cranberry juice and vitamin c
And if you can get to a pharmacy get cystopurin(UK) or azo urinary pain relief (US) over the counter.
Or try the home remedy of baking soda in water to neutralise the urine, until you can see a doctor to have the urine dipped.
My pee is also a blood orange color.
Thank you I wasn't sure if it was or not because my ut never used to feel like that. I have had about 3 of them but this one feels ALOT worse. Its weird because it didn't start to hurt the way it did until I got to my job orientation and bought a Pepsi. Then after the Pepsi I couldn't stop going to the bathroom and everytime I went it was only a little bit and it felt like I had to pee more but it just wouldn't come out. It felt like something was trying to push it's way out of it. I got scared and thought it might have been a kidney stone or something but I'm obviously a little too young for that.
How long after taking the azos do you think it'll the for it to stop hurting the way it does?
Hi i do feel for you having only just got over this myself, its awful and the throbbing long afterwards in the urthra area. MIne turned put be a UTI and had no choice but to take antibiotics, my wee sample showed blood in it though not visible to the eyes but yours sounds like def enough blood to see it if it a blood orange colour. Sound like you def have a nasty infection and need to get to the doctors asap. Drinking some bicarb of soda about a level teaspoonfull in half a glass of water def eases the stinging but wont clear any infection. I had to take two lots of antibiotics before mine cleared and yes drink plenty of water too. Its often recommended to drink cranberry juice but the unsweetened no sugar type, anything with sugar in it isnt any good, avoid also sugary drinks and food as the bacteria thrive with sugar. Hope it clears soon for you as its sooo uncomfortable and can be pretty painfull as well
Sue
The azo will stop it hurting very quickly, probably after the second sachet you'll feel much better.
But remember it only deals with the pain, not the bacteria. You'll most likely need antibiotics. Drink a lot of water. On my last one I was drinking 3-4 litres a day. You have to wash it out of your bladder.
Some studies have shown cranberry juice stops ecoli sticking to the walls of the bladder so that's useful too.
As Susan said avoid soda at all costs.
Get the urine dipped at the doctors I wouldn't wait too long the last one I had got severe quickly and ended up needing several rounds of antiobiotics to knock it out.
If the uti's become recurrent research d-mannose, you can pick it up in health food stores. It's basically a sugar found in cranberries and birch, but it's in highly concentrated amounts in the tabs or powder. I'm having some success with it.
It's funny you mention the throbbing afterwards, mine lasted for weeks I had to just try forget about it. It seems my urethra was super irritated after the infection.
Rebecca today it suddenly started stinging again, then next time it didnt? sometimes i get the feeling i need to open the bowels and ive noticed these two seemed to be connected the more it srings when i go to wee the more i feel a pressure on the bowels, i read that being constipated puts pressure on the bladder and the urthra, seeing ive also had five babies im thinking now possible prolapse causing my problem. im 65 but had the UTI s all through my younger days sometimes every month then i realised it was the pill causing it. Stopped the pill became pregnant and all the symptoms disappeared!
Yes I've definitely heard that constipation link too, my tingling/stinging feeling lasted for months afterwards. My uti was very severe I just couldn't kick it, it took rounds of antibiotics so I would say my bladder was well and truly battered.
Mine tended to be cyclical too with my period. Have you ever had a cystoscope?
The stinging only returns now when I'm dehydrated, when I drink more It's gone on the next pee. Sorry tmi
Hi Rebecca, no i ve never had a cystoscope, i dont want one unless i really need it, see how things go, think a lot of my problem is due to my age, everything shrinks and drys up and becomes dry and irritated, Menopause & Urinary Symptoms Atrophy means a wasting away of muscle mass, and urogenital atrophy involves atrophy of the vagina as well as atrophy of the urinary tract. The lack of estrogen weakens the bladder (which holds urine) and the urethra, the tube that carries urine out of the body, compromising their ability to control urinary functions. Sorry!
And you thought you gave tmi lol !
It still hurts and I've now taken the axis 3 times as said. I feel the same way as before.
Brayanna sorry but whats axis ? have you been to the doctors yet?
I think possibly a typo, and meant "azo"? I find those satchets only help if the uti is fairly minimal. Sounds like a trip to the doctor for antibiotics is definitely in order.
Haha! I know these problems are a little embarrassing but look they're so common so who cares lol. I hope you got oestrogen cream for that, uti's seem to be getting tougher to treat, the first antibiotic I had was effective for ecoli and it still didn't help, I ended up taking different types and one for an extended period.
I was worried I had interstitial cystitis as it went on for months, thankfully it got better gradually.
But I had to make serious lifestyle changes, like binning all feminine hygiene products, bought new 100% cotton underwear, drinking copious amounts of water, d-mannose daily as maintenance, avoided tight clothing, by being meticulous with hygiene and making sure I pee.....completely.
Uti's are an absolute curse, get one bad enough and I think anyone would do and try anything. I was peeing blood wincing in pain....ugh the thoughts of it.
I don't have insurance so I can't go to the doctor yet. It still hurts. I even wake upping the middle of the night just to sit on the toilet because after trying to go it feels better because of the way I'm sitting there. It's weird. I spend like 10 minutes just sitting there for comfort.
No Rebecca ive been given nothing since i had to stop using the fagifem pesseries to address this problem, they really helped but in the end after a few months they made me bleed so ended up having to have a scan to see if the lining of my womb had thickened which it hadnt, told to stop using them and was given nothing instead. your right one will do anything to get rid if and prevent another UTI and i agree with all you said, i really need to drink more water so now im having a glass fall before i go to bed and take one with me to drink when i wake up at night to go to the loo. Seems to be helping. Also the stinging is eased by taking a small jug to the loo with you with some warm water and and some bicarb of soda mixed in, pour this over the area as soon as you finish going to wee, it helps with the burning and the stinging at first signs. I too was taking the water, d-mannose as a preventive at night but found it was actually waking up with a dull ache over my bladder every morning. Oh its fun being a women isnt!
Super fun! Not. I was doing the jug method too , the warm water meant I could pee without screaming.
I have heard of ladies using the oestrogen cream for much longer periods albeit a very small amount once or twice weekly. I find you need a female gynaechologist who's interested and understands the effect this can have on your quality of life. I had a couple of male doctors look at me as though I was insane that a chronic low grade uti would affect me as badly as it did.
Ugh that's awful, try see a doctor as soon as you can, try the health product I mentioned. The majority of uti's are caused by ecoli and it only works on ecoli, so unfortunately if yours is a different bacteria it won't work.
Do some research on it and see what you think.
I would really get to a doctor though perhaps your family can help. I hoped I could flush my last uti out but it turned into a right screamer. If you delay it could make its way into your kidneys and wow that's in a league of its own.
