I’m afraid that my symptoms are MS but my doctor says it’s anxiety

I have been experiencing tingly numb feet and the left side of my body feels tingly and numb. My right thigh went numb yesterday but the feeling returned about about 7 hours. I’m afraid that I have symptoms of MS but my doctor said he thinks it’s anxiety.

I had the same thing happen in my twenties.  Thought for sure I had MS.

All tests were normal.  All due to anxiety and stress.  

Stress can cause the nervous system to become disrupted and show symptoms like what you have. Anxiety  Symptoms are the body’s way of telling you that you have too much stress.  The key is to learn how to manage your anxiety and symptoms will diminish.

An mri can rule out MS.  It may give you peace of mind.

Thank you so much for your response. I am worrying myself crazy. With the prolonged numbness, muscle twitches and sharp nerve pains I’m convinced it’s ms. I’ll be so glad when all of this is over. I’m currently waiting to be approved for an MRI. I’m just ready to get back to being me.

 I meant to tell you that I am now in my 50s so those symptoms did not hurt me at all. I highly believe that your MRI will be perfectly normal! Then you will know for sure your symptoms are all related to anxiety and stress.  That is when you may think about getting some counseling for anxiety. It really helps to vent to somebody else who can help. Don’t keep all your fears and anxiety bottled up because the symptoms will worsen. And take care of yourself in every way .

 Think of your life and the things that may be causing your anxiety. Sometimes we can make adjustments in those areas. Take care! 🌸🌸🌸

Did you feel like your feet arms, and hands were numb and weak all the time. I’m always getting sharp nerve pains all over my body. And my feet and hands go numb so easily now. I’m so afraid. I don’t want to have an auto immune disease. I keep a headache now. I got the call yesterday that my MRI has been approved and set up for next week.
